Exactly my thoughts. Its a part that just does not get seen again once its installed, especially as it near impossible to remove and install unless you have the beam removed. Thanks to Lee and the gang I now have that opportunity!.I'd be tempted to treat the new one to a protective coat of something so it doesn't go the same way. Por-15 maybe.
I know it seems sad when it's brand new. But unless they've changed the way they make them it will go bad at some point !
I would, but pick-up only, sending such a delicate item in the post would probably reduce it to dust!loads of life in that yet.... are you selling it?
Sell it as a self assembly kit, @gookah likes a challenge...I would, but pick-up only, sending such a delicate item in the post would probably reduce it to dust!
Powder coating? A tad extreme perhaps on the cost front though.I'd be tempted to treat the new one to a protective coat of something so it doesn't go the same way. Por-15 maybe.

Not necessarily. £30 from the right place at a guess.Powder coating? A tad extreme perhaps on the cost front though.
But bear in mind how old these things are. Will you/me still have these cars in another 20 years?I'd be tempted to treat the new one to a protective coat of something so it doesn't go the same way. Por-15 maybe.

ps. I might treat them to a coat of decent paint but nothing more.
