Write Up Journey to the Limborit 2016

Today , sight seeing tours and not the soft version (double decker bus, guide, bla-bla-bla...)! but the hard one: on feet , inch by inch!
We started with a pedestrian tour according to DK guide and continued with Residenz , a royal palace:

Inside Residenz loads of beautiful exhibits , like this very special clock , from 1735 (sorry for the image, it was really poor light in the room!):
P1350320.webp

And I also discovered a job which is unchanged nowadays! Even the tool s the same:
P1350305.webp

In front of the Museum of Antiken Collections a strange representation catch my eye:
P1350352.webp
P1350353.webp

Modern art is everywhere, some time big scale:
P1350361.webp
P1350381.webp

But if you don't care sitting in front of the train , is ok!:
P1350366.webp

So we jumped directly on the Street festival: Green City (Leopold & Ludwig str) where drivers (of four door car weren't welcome!):

Tony.

Having a good time Dan!! Damn rights you are!! Thanks for all the pics and keep them coming. I hope you'll be getting into some of the smaller villages and run into a few festivals happening. Drive safe my friend, JIM

Envious doesn't come close. Looks like your having a really cracking time. Look forward to meeting you in Slenaken Dan.

Great photos again Dan. It will be a Holiday to remember

Well today was the Day; we divided the tour between the BMW Welt and other museums.
So , I start with the iconic one!
I have to say that beside the title of "historic day" for myself, the atmosphere inside the BMW museum is great.
Despite the way the Zed3 is skipped in some BMW documentary, here he get its well deserved position!
We were there at the opening hours and here are few highlights:
From the 100 years of history I selected 25; guess where your Zed3 is?

One of my favorite poster in the museum:

The second legend...
P1350466.webp

P1350464.webp

My second meeting with Gina...
P1350474.webp

And the first "Vision":
P1350476.webp

What you can get from the postcard stand:
P1350487.webp
P1350488.webp

And what you can't take as a "souvenir"...
P1350483.webp

A superb bearing ball performance at you can stare for hours, as a fascinated child!
I hope I will manage to youtube the film!
P1350490.webp

Guess what model was born?

Talking about children:

That looks like a great place to visit @Zeti

That will have to go on my bucket list

The superleggera has very nice details and it was for the first time to see it in flesh!

And in the same day , in the Modern Art Museum (!) I found this two rarities , the Tatraplan and the Imme 100 (a bike that I'm crazy about because of the innovation of the technical solutions:

Great photos Dan, keep them coming. You're certainly having a good trip.

They don't build em like that anymore!! Too bad. You'll have to PM me details on the bike and what's so special about it! Keep them coming, I'm really enjoying this trip with you! I tried to get to the BMW Museum the last time I was in Germany but after driving several hours to get there it was closed but did hit the Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart and found I owned four of the car models on display. Safe driving!! JIM

What a great day.The museum looks fantastic prime examples of the cars must be great to admire.
Loving the pictures..... :scorecard:

After visiting most museums in Munchen, the last one was the Deutsch Museum, on June 13th :
P1350609.webp
P1350620.webp
P1350618.webp
P1350626.webp

I got my last chance to have the Zed beside the towers:
P1350689.webp
P1350686.webp

And before starting the "Romantische Strasse", the Romantic Road, we decided to make a detour, from Munchen to Heichingen, to visit some "relatives":
The Hohenzollern Schloss:
P1350726.webp
P1350723.webp
P1350751.webp

And after that the Lichtenstein Schloss, with no connection at all with Liechtenstein state!:
P1350772.webp
P1350774.webp
P1350779.webp

More great pictures Dan, it amazes me how they ever managed to build things like the Schloss right on the edges of cliffs like that.

Tony.
