Write Up Journey to the Limborit 2016

I'm afraid nobody mentioned the poor souls lost when raising this beautiful castle on the edge.
In the main hall they kept a genuine piece of the rock, where the castle is built and which gave the name; being a white stone , a shiny one, they name it Licht Stein: the rock of light.
I forgot to mention two things, one sad: on these beautiful scenic roads I drove 95% roof on! Due to rainy days , is the first time I drive the Zed with roof on, for such a long period! The amazing synchronization is that every time we stopped for visiting the rain stopped too and each time we start it rains like hell!...
I think it's the only car in the city carrying a cover, during night time!
Another good point was the clutch pedal stopper: it's great with it, I love it!
Another thread : the price of the petrol is between 1.29- 1.39 EUR/l, but all have 5% (it's minimum!) And 10% ethanol in it!
So , if you buy with 10% is cheaper than the one with 5%("Super")! I asked if I can buy somewhere without ethanol mixture, (while my self I'm using daily enough ethilic, in the weissbier!) and they told me that all petrol must have min 5% ethanol....

Don't worry, beer in Azerbaijan is 100% ethanol, that stuff really kills you....
The F1 fans have a treat in store this weekend then Mike. Maybe that's why they've taken on Heineken as a major sponsor this year, to get some better beer in.;)

I was using this while in France Dan. My 2.2 ran fine on 10% ethanol:thumbsup:

So, we are a little behind with the diary!
The Romantic Road starts from Neuschwanstein castle and goes up to the Fussen. We visited few years ago the castles of Ludwig the 2nd (Neuschwanstein, Hochschwangau, Lindhof, Herrenchiemsee) and we started the Romantic Road with Donauworth:

In the last days weather is better and better and all short trips on the Rhine Valley were roof down! But the funny fact is that roads looks empties except the rush ours , in the morning and afternoon!
The Zed seems to like its old petrol (i bought it from Bayer seven years ago), he seems more agile, though the 5 percent of ethanol results in one liter more petrol burned on 100 km!
I realized the last owner was not far from Munchen and this month my Zed will celebrate its 20 th anniversary during the Limborit! I will keep drinking every evening a beer for it!

Did that stretch of castles a few times in the eighties Dan and loved every minute of it. Great roads with little to no traffic!! Enjoy the rest of the trip! JIM

Yes Jim, Transilvania and Maramuresh (North RO) got it, but not at this scale: much modest, because Romania was always under some foreign authorities/ empires. The charm comes from the scenery, popular architecture and especially from the kindness and hospitality of the locals which didn't changed , despite all kind of political regimes during the last century...
All the castles in RO you can count it on the fingers of your both hands; the problem is the road network , which makes the distances very long!
But with patience and defensive driving, everything is possible!
The hope never dies!

WOW, absolutely fantastic set of pictures Dan, those towns look like straight out of story books. It looks as though your wife is enjoying it immensely too. Please keep on posting.
