Hi guys new here so thought i would share my progress so far, i have copied my thread from another forum and hope you enjoy :D

ok its about time! i keep saying ill start one so here goes, it will be a bit basic to start with but at least i can carry on and add stuff in the same place! here goes..

November 2014 I buy my 2008 Z4 2.0i in Alpine White.

one of the 1st jobs i had done was to fix a small oil leak with a rocker cover gasket replacement..

next up was new wheel arch liners all round as they were all worn..

front lower wishbone bushes were knackered so replaced with some poweflex poly bushes

discovered my roof shelf micro switch was bypassed so got a new micro switch and re-wired it all in..

after hitting a MASSIVE pothole and attempting to claim off the council (failed) i broke a rear shock so replaced with some Bilstein B4s at rear

main beam headlight went so replaced with some Phillips Extreme Vision and some new sidelight bulbs

got a ZHP Gearknob off the forum (sorry i forgot who off :headbang: )

new handbrake handle purchased off Jonny Essex

became a member of the stubby crew :p

fitted the awesome Gaptech RCH+ one touch roof control

numberplate lights needed britening up so changed them over to one series LED bulbs

3rd brake light broke so replaced with a clear 3rd brake light which suits white better

(also needed both boot handle inserts and a big thanks to Srhutch for sending me both for free and i gave a forum donation  )

needed to ditch the RFT as they were horrible, full set of Vredsteins all round

after removing bumper realized rear crash bar was damaged so replaced with new
while bumper was off i replaced both broken rear bumper brackets ready for the new bumper in few weeks

front caliper seized up so purchased a full set of drilled/grooved discs, red painted calipers and pads off Jonny Essex (cant thank him enough for these, he sorted me out at a great price and even cleaned them up and gave them a touch up for me  )

heres some pics of Jonnys work

and heres some of mine

fitted

(needs small tough up since fitting :headbang: )

and before and after

cleaned roof drains and replaced both splash guards while they were off

thats as much as i can remember for now, i will try and update more often now as it will be easier to keep everything in the same place!!

hope you enjoy and please leave any feedback and comment!

Really good so far mate. You mention a new rear bumper? New shape or just a replacement?

haha, i managed to get a set of 4 OEM PDC sensors this week as the current bumper is a replacement for the original (previous owner removed original PDC bumper for a smoother look and just left the wires) so will get them sprayed at same time, cant wait to have PDC so i don't crap myself every time i reverse close to something lol

Great read, thanks for posting. You've nearly shamed me into doing one for my car. I'll just have to remember back 5 years though.;)

Tony.

What exuse did the Council give for not honouring the pothole claim?

the usual crap about it not having been reported before therefore they were unaware of the pothole..... funny how i reported it and threatened to be claiming back for the damage it was repaired within 2 days. i wonder if all reported potholes are repaired within 2 days?!

Did you submit an official claim with photos, date, time etc and costs to get your car repaired? If so they should have paid up, as that pothole is one of the worst I've seen in a while. Don't buy their excuse as not being reported before - someone has to hit it for the first time. I would appeal their decision and copy to your local politician and higher authority if need-be.

i have several photos ranging from the day after it happened (it was submerged by rain water when i 1st hit it) then every day after with a newspaper in the frame for proof of date, i had my brakes and suspension all checked the week before (it was when i had the poly bushes fitted so we checked the rest of the car while it was on ramps, and have a garage receipt to prove this) so i had proof everything was ok the week before, took it back to same garage and he said he was 100% sure it was caused by the pothole and was happy to say that if needed. all in the damage cost about £200 (£110 on the shocks and top mounts, £90 on labour) which was all i was after, wasnt claiming any loss of time or inconvenience etc, just purely cost or repair and pretty much got a point blank refusal. was couple of months ago now so might be too late. if i wasnt so busy at the time with lots of other things i would like to have pursued it further but probs too late now :(

I'd definitely have another go. A couple of months is not excessive when you see PPI companies saying they'll chase claims going back years.

You've accomplished an amazing amount of work Jamie and I can't wait for the updates. The car looks great but is that a new style blow up doll in your passenger seat so you can use the commuter car pool lanes?? JIM
