Introducing... Smurf!!!

A fairly successful day today sorting the issues out.

Starting at 6.30 I got the drivers seat out to replace the bushes and to add the seat lift mod.

I then replaced the front discs and pads which were in a sorry state. One of the pads appeared to be delaminating!

I then turned my attention to the cooling system. I drained the coolant from the block and radiator, replaced the thermostat and the viscous clutch.

I also competed an oil service and gave it a new air filter.

After filling it up with coolant I took it for a little spin. The car seemed to get up to temperature on the gauge, but there wasn't any hot air from the vents.

Further inspection showed that the thermostat housing is leaking. One to sort tomorrow morning.

Last night I refurbed the angle eye eadlights Stacey bought. I'm not overly happy with the finish, but the car looks much better to me. I still need to wire in the angel eyes

Looking at those garages Martin, if you installed 2 four post lifts you could get 4 cars in there mate

Tony.

:thankyou:@Mnbrennan for doing all the jobs :)
I don't mind paying a little extra for Smurf when you decide to sell it :p

Is Mr. Mint aware you're planning on buying your own car Pauline, don't you be giving Shirl any ideas ;)=))

Tony.

Only probably, or hopefully?;)

Ha we've already been a two Zed family and it didn't work out,:( never say never though as that was a Z3 and a Z4. Now, what about two Z3s.........

As Nike would say Dave.........just do it!

You have your work cut out looking after maintaining so many cars it's going to be hard work keeping on top of them all even just keeping them clean.
Best of luck.

Well at least your neighbours got something right, on the other hand they could have a complete petrol head as a neighbour.

It's a well know term. "You can never have enough Z3s"...

This is coming from a man with 48 watches... all the same make and model - different colours

Remember when bleeding the coolant to have the heat turned up your in the car to allow water through the heater matrix.

Nice car BTW ;)

Already on it.

The issue I have is that the thermostat housing is leaking. I've put a little more care and attention into seating the seals right and cleaning up the mating surfaces this time.

Just topped it up again, waiting for @BMBabe to wake up before I turn the engine over.

Having said that I THOUGHT I saw water without even turning the engine over, and was about to chew my own hand off :mad:

Fortunately it was an optical illusion

A man can dream, unfortunately not enough headroom. I suppose I could knock into the living room upstairs =))

The Garage is of course the most important room in the house. My wife never disagrees,:) but has a funny look on her face when I proclaim this.:(

No go... Hampered by a hairline crack in the thermostat housing

That'll be the source of the leak then!
