Not sure where to post this, but this'll do for now. I know I'm not the only one on here that has anything to do with horses, so this is for those that do. We've got an IWT HB506 trailer here, just over 6 years old, and a few days ago we nearly had a disaster with it. Someone went out to fetch a horse with it, for some reason one of the girls here dropped the front ramp and one of the hinges snapped. Totally rusted out, I reckon something to do with the hinges being plastic coated, the plastic cracking and allowing in water which then can't get out and brings on the rot. Had a poke at the other hinge and that one snapped too.
Luckily we weren't unloading anything at the time, just broke under the weight of the ramp itself, could have been nasty. So, anyone with one of these trailers have a look at the hinges on the front ramp, horses can be dangerous enough without having one land on top of you inadvertantly.
Strangely enough the replacement hinges are galvanised, not plastic coated.
