I believe the prime motivation at the head of this movement is financial gain. They are using the common idiots to do the "dirty" work. Those idiots are motivated by the "have / have not" syndrome. By that I mean they perceive the haves much as the French did towards their own at the time of their revolution. Also, they view the haves as being "uncaring" because they are reluctant to share their wealth with social beggars. They arrive in Europe with the misconception that they will find themselves better off somehow. When reality sets in and they discover that the "local" dog eats any other dog if he can, the disillusionment sets in. They can't get ahead because they are at the disadvantage of not being a "local" dog, and resentment sets in. That resentment becomes overwhelming to the point that any opportunity to exact vengeance is attractive.
The idiots fall right into the lap of the IS leadership as gun fodder to achieve their aims.
Here we have "poor, uneducated, and unskilled Islamists" with little hope of realising their ambitions within a "foreign" environment. They can't go back "home" because there is nothing to go back to, they can't stay where they are because there is little real opportunity when the locals are also struggling.
They resort to criminal activities such as prostitution or go off to fight for IS and hope there really are 7 virgins waiting for them in heaven when they die in the name of Islam. Why there should be so many virgins in heaven puzzles me. If you ask them why, the logic is that non virgins can't get into heaven... it begs the question - where in hell is your mother....

I am somewhat surprised the "left wing" aren't all over this. One might say the obligation to clean up the mess is more compelling than the WMD belief which supposedly motivated the action.
I can't see Obama doing anything at this time, and Europe is in a financial struggle with itself.
Anyone know a country with 20 + million strong army which also needs oil to drive it's economy... ?

If press reports are right the SAS (and others) are taking out 200 a week. Having a ball of a time by all accounts. Granted these are being replaced but the field is thinning. Happy days.

The thing is, is if every country that opposes the IS supplied 100 top service men then there would be a force of thousands yet very little from each country to suffer big loses. Even though 1 soldier is a big loss to any country.
There will always be big losses when honourable soldiers who wear a uniform fight against cowards who hide amongst everyday people till they're ready to blow themselves up and hide amongst women and children.
