Horsepower at Newark Showground.

Great photos and write up @t-tony :p

Great right up Tony, thanks for the run down made for a great day.

its worth a look if you are stuck for somewhere to go on a fine day, plenty of variety and interesting motors

Just to point out the battle scar didn't happen on the day, from June time but awaiting parts for the fix :(

Couple of pics too, just because I used the camera :)

WE all know about how obsessive he is when he arrives at a show, the detailing kit comes out, but its that little extra that obviously makes the difference

Here's a couple of video's from arriving at Coddington roundabout on Sunday. In the first one you can see Toby pointing to something happening to his left and on the 2nd one you can see the pleb he was pointing at !! Sorry about the picture but I ended up mounting the rear view camera inside the passenger head restraint (as suggested by @Brian H a couple of weeks ago) for a steady image and less buffeting of the camera. but they have a mesh on the outside.:(

Then as seen from my forwards facing camera, you can see what Toby was pointing to, an idiot in the left hand lane, indicating right, going all the way round the roiundabout.

If he was in the wrong lane and waited for some one to let him in no probs, anyone new in unfamiliar area can make mistake, I think he wanted to jump the cue turning right, Toby obvioslly thought same, I would still let him in as it's always better to have the idiot in front where you can see him, but it's hard not to take him on and push him out at the exit he wants.

Very true mate, I have to keep my wits about me every morning at Carholme roundabout, and it is ONLY in the morning the rest of the day it's absolutely fine.

Tony.

ps. It's more fun to push him out at the exit before the one he wants though.:ymdevil:

Deffo wanted to jump the queue, watched him come from behind, switch left then indicate right. Know what you mean about having them in front  Is that why folks let me over take em ? :D

Tonys idea of pushing them out before their exit is nice, but these days some of them will just drive on regardless, probably doing damage - we know where that leads :(

Absolutely mate, it was a tongue in cheek comment TBH.:)

Tony.

ps. He was intent on jumping the queue though, shame he was still behind the truck as he left the roundabout!

Just watched your vids Tony. Unfortunately this is a very common occurrence on this roundabout, I see it every time I use it. If there is a queue of more than 2 or 3 cars waiting to turn right towards Newark, the impatient buggers who cant be arsed to wait will use the left hand lane. HGV's do it as well.

One thing of note though, you should have been on the left side as you were going straight on.:rolleyes::rolleyes:, but I will let you off as the road markings have disappeared.=))=))=))

I should remember that Bryan next time we go. Same as Carholme on my way to work. They have just re done all the road marking down Carholme Rd. into town as they were all worn away and lanes became a lottery.

Just to add to what Eddie said,in my town we had a roundabout with 4exits but one was a duel carriageway, now for 25+yrs if approaching the r/about up the duel c/way they marked the L/H lane straight on and left, R/H lane right only which worked perfectly:thumbsup:, yes you guessed it:rolleyes:, they decided to mark the R/H lane also straight on and right which meant two lines of traffic possibly going straight over into a single lane exit. Beats me how that improves traffic flow when the only way to get through is to cut up the driver in the outside lane making the same turn on the r/about. :facepalm:Do they ever come back to see if it actually works.:wideyed:The mind boggles.:bored:
Rant over!!!!!!! :happy::happy::happy::happy:

That's just the same fault with Lincoln's by-pass Roy. The section where I come out of town is dual cabbage way paid for by Lincs. County Council, at either end of that is a stretch of single carriage way paid for by the City Council. A bottle neck at either end, pain.

Tony.

Tony I think County Councils need to do a survey before wasting our money, wouldn't take long to ask regular users of problem junctions their views, makes sense when you think their experts probably don't use or have a blinkered view of what it actually needed. It's like sitting at a set of lights which you use regularly and you know that they've been programmed wrong for the flow, it's obvious that don't come back to monitor.
Roy.
