I am awaiting confirmation from the hotel to arrangements but I have an initial agreement that breakfast will start at 7:00 I think that means we can all have breakfast before we go. I think a relaxed breakfast congregate for leave at 8:00 with actual drive movement off the hotel premises at 8:15 spot on would seem like a plan. I have also had an initial contact from the police requesting more details about our planned times etc. but all seems fine so far.

I think that will disappoint a lot of people who have been looking forward to going en-mass in one convoy. it is easier to sort but I know a lot of people are looking forward to a big group. Unless I have misunderstood.

Cant see why people will be dissapointed, it makes sense to be in smaller, groups, and we will all be together at silverstone, and surely the parade lap is the important one, not the trip down there?

If you have a large convoy, you will get split up, and there will be more chance of traffic or accident issues!

Id like to see you coordinate 50 or 60 cars leaving the hotel!!!

I will travel in a small group or alone and im sure people will join me.

Its common sense.

imho that is.

It would be good to get other views on the big or small convoy from Horwood. I personally would prefer to go in a big convoy, I know we wont all drive through the gate at Silverstone together as there will be some gaps created along the route. :coolsteer) :coolsteer) :coolsteer) :coolsteer) :coolsteer) :coolsteer)

There is something special about driving in a convoy of Zeds along the road, both for spectators and participants. :coolsteer) :coolsteer) :coolsteer)

My opinion for what it's worth, one big long convoy of Zeds making its way to Silverstone would look fantastic.

always worried about stone chips as most are.

The issue isn't that,

Let see what everyone want to do, but nothing is stopping us doing our own thing.

I'm not having breakfast at the hotel so I might leave early anyway!

You won't maintain a convoy of that size for long.

:-??

I agree a long line of zeds will look awesome but I think it's a given that you're not going to get everyone wanting to do the same thing due to the numbers, so individuals and small groups will probably want to co-ordinate themselves and meet up once at Silverstone.

I'm sure everyone agrees that Duncan is doing a sterling job at trying to pull this together for everyone and because he isn't necessarily getting direct feedback from everyone he is trying to interpret the general "feel".

What seems to be important here is that everyone is able to do what they want to do without fear of criticism which then enables them to get what they want out of the weekend.

The biggest worry to me is the volume of traffic and I found a thread on another forum (but for the life of me cannot find it again) where someone spoke of queuing for 2 hrs... where he queued from-to I can't remember.... but it was local to Silverstone. This is where the local police should be able to help and Duncan is liaising with them.

The only reason I am getting involved in this discussion is because we would love to be part of the convoy (for part of it at least) if possible, but ultimately we will go straight there if the timings don't look right..... We’ve waited long enough for this event to end up on a public car park and not be part of the parade.

Quite right Snoops the convoy isn't mandatory, but hopefully will be taken up by most...

I'm another one of those nervous never-wants-to-miss-anything types, and usually turn up before the doors are open. I'm always early for everything and it used to cause lots of arguments with my ex, particularly arriving 3 hours early for ferry crossings ;)

Thanks guys I am getting the earlier is great message but do you have a feel for what sort of time? I have moved things forward with the hotel and they are checking for the 7:00 am start of breakfast (confirmation awaited) and they have also offered a "grab and go" rolls and Bacon for even earlier but what is missing from your posts is the times that you have in mind.

I have no idea if my suggestion of Breakfast from 7:00 and then congregate at 8:00 for drive out of the hotel at 8:15 is meeting good vibes or if people want to go even earlier.

What has been said has generated more questions to BMWCCGB which I am drafting but I am not getting enough actual times suggested. (please) All good feedback though! (or should that be feedforward =)) )

Our tickets are confirming that the gates open at 7:30 so i think there will be a queue there at that time of the morning.
Allowing whats neccessary for the drive there, (Half hour) I'm up for leaving at 7:30 latest.
Havnt we all have to be in place by 9:30? :!!
