My name is Barry, my wife Dot.and we own a 1996 Boston green Z3 fitted with a S52 3.1 motor, M-sport suspension and auto transmission. We are Britcits, but spend 6 months of the year down here in Ft Myers FL escaping the winter months from our other home just outside Granada, Spain, where we have a Hellrot red example of a Z3 this a manual 2.8 version .and also with M-sport suspension.
This forum looks to be very interesting and we look forward to our membership.

Hey Barry we've been down the Keys a good few times but only came back up on your side of the state one time. Hopefully when we can get there more often we will get to Ft. Myers for a stay. When we were there in Oct./Nov. we went up state to Pensacola for 3 days. We usually have 3 weeks in late spring and the same in the autumn. This is our house.

I am rather envious of your beautiful home, and is that a two car garage ? We are in a 2 bed condo, okay it has a shared garage but the association will not allow one to work on our cars and my Camaro Z28 is left outside !!

Hi,yes it is/was a 2 car garage but sadly the rental market demands a "Games room" to be competitive these days. I would've loved to have kept a nice Z over there for our use but instead we have to hire a car when we're there and lately it has been a Mustang. The HOAs are very limiting as to what you can and can't do here too, like this year we had to have the roof cleaned (on a 6/7 year old house !) to keep them happy at a cost of $300 plus. It is a nice place with 5 bed, 4 Bath pool and spa etc.

To have to covert the garage seems a bit of a sacrilege , but I assume you rent it when you are not there which is why you had to to the modification. Maybe when you decide to retire and wish to spend the full 6 months here, you can restore the space for 'Car Games' !!

Maybe mate, we'll have to see. If we still need some rentals to support the place maybe not. Some of the houses on our community have a double garage and a single, sadly ours didn't have that option when we had it built

Interesting to see that both your cars have the hoods down in the photos, when I stayed in Florida a few years ago the only car I saw with the hood down was my rented Mustang, that included several Z 3s.
