Help wth warning lights?

Sorry for resurrecting an old post but I have the exact same lights on my 2002 2.2 Sport.

When people refer to “Brake Sensors”, are we talking Wear Sensors or ABS?
They're the wheel speed sensors, aka ABS sensors.

Did a scan this morning and got;

5E30 Transverse Acceleration Sensor

That’s as much as my Reader will tell me.

It's probably one of two sensors under the passenger seat. One is the speed sensor, part number 34526754289 and is black plastic with a blue label, and is £400 plus from BMW.

The other is the acceleration sensor, part number 37146781405 and is about £150.

I've JUST sold a good used 6754289 but should have the other one.

Yep, codes read to give you a clue where to start looking. Have you had either new tyres or tracking done recently?
Morning Brian, had all the steering joints replaced on my 3ltr ast year just befor it sorned it. Took car out for a 15 mile drive and these very two warning lights came on after a few miles and stayed on. When I got home sturne ingition off and on started enging and lights off again, should I get warning lights canceled with the code reader ?> Thanks Geoff

it could also be the two solder joints in the ABS box. Really easy to fix. If you can solder that caused me intermittent problems for a year till I pinned it down

Mine lights up occasionally. I'd start the car and the lights would stay on. I'd drive along and they'd eventually go out again. Hasn't happened for a while though but the car hasn't been used in the wet for a while. I wondered if it was just moisture getting in somewhere.

Never use it in the wet I think it maybe due toall steering rod joints being replaced due to rubber showing signs if slight cracking

Bringing this thread back to life please - I have the same lights now

Car starts and drives OK - lights come on after a few miles
Stop car, ignition off, wait 5 mins and they clear.
Lights then come on again after a few more miles

I tried using my lads code reader from his fiesta, which does seem to connect but doesnt show any stored faults
Maybe needs somethign BMW specific

Z3 3.0 Auto 2002 Model

Next step inspect wheel speed sensors maybe ?
A quick look shows them being about £60 each, blue version for DSC

Any help appreciated

Have you tried tripping through the digital miles clock for a code. I thought i read somewhere codes come up on there along with the cars chassis, click part number etc..
Id have ti re search Google AI to find out again

Google tells me
The BMW Z3 trip reset button can be used to access a "hidden" instrument cluster test mode, which displays diagnostic information.
..... but the instrument cluster menu does not typically display engine fault codes (DTCs). For engine, ABS, or airbag fault codes, you must use an OBD-II scanner

I've had the abs box needing the two fixed connections needed resoldering, also had faulty sensors. The latest one was, I think, a dirty disk. The bit the sensor reads, on the back of the disk. Looks like a cog but is just for the sensor.

BNW specific code reader needed plus a 20pin to 16pin cable changer to allow the scanner to be plugged into the round Pac-man socket in the engine bay to read all modules. Creator 310+ or 410 or Foxwell scanners are used by a lot of us. Once you have the codes you know what to look at to fix.
