hi

Unfortunately I am going to have to sell my z3 after just a few months of ownership. I have a new job in London and I don't feel I will be able to make the most of it living there.

Rundown of the car:

June 98 built M52. One of the last pre facelift.
103k Miles
LSD
Harmon Kardon
Heated seats & OBC

Maintenance work I have done in the last 3 months:

Engine, Gbox Oil. Air filter
New Front control arms and powerflex bushes
New Track control arms
New brembo discs and pads all round
new style 78 anthracite with all new kumho tyres
Complete cooling overhaul: tstat& housing, metal water pump, viscous fan clutch, pulleys and belts
new OEM floor carpets
new rear window

'Mods'
New Magnaflow SS catback
Strut brace
£200 continental radio with DAB and bluetooth
M50 Manifold with BBTB (proper bespoke fitting kit, not B&Q bits)
Seat tilt mod

So as you can see it is literally thousands spent, I know it doesn't translate value to sale, but this really
is mechanically very sound, all this work has just been done. It drives extremely well.

The paintwork is good, a couple age related marks.

It has fabric seat covers, covering black&tan leather

One thing, I do not have full service history, Only really I have kept everything from work Ive done, but I know these engines well, and Its genuinley seems ok. I did a 2.2k miles euro roadtrip. anything that could have gone
wrong would have, and its all been addressed with the above work.

So, I hope its ok to message you all, and I would appreciate some figures I could list it at, I've accepted I wont get my money back. :( Thanks so much.

Sam

Looks a very nice Zed - someone will get a good car - best of luck with the sale!

Well, l listed my pristine show winning 56,000 3.0 M Sport at £8,000 including hardtop, almost FSH (no records 2009-13) and had no takers.
It was suggested that it would sell quickly for £6,000 (l bet it would lol but it's not selling for that, l'll keep it)
So based on that l would suggest yours may sell for £4000.
Although people say the values are "going up" nobody seems to be paying these values.

Anyone here owned a z3 in London? Not sure how comfortable I'd feel driving around top down. I had a lucky escape from a car jacking in my 330d in brixton a few years ago!

Not sure you'd get "car jacked" for a Z3. Although you'd not want to leave anything on the passenger seat such as a phone or briefcase.

With the amount of spotters on this forum, car thieves would have no chance!

I pick my z3 up on Saturday but previously my wife is happy to drive around in a convertible, she had TT roadster and never had a problem and I've have mx5 no problem either.

Where about in London will you be living?
I go up there just to drive in the tunnels!!
I would give it a try first and see. Will you need to commute a lot? All depends on what you need to use it for really.
London is very different one borough to the next and time of day. I can tell you a midnight cruise down the Mall and over the bridges with some super car spotting in the summer is great fun.
Depending where you are you can usually get to some driving roads an hour of town, plenty to see in do in Kent, Surrey, Southe coast etc if you want to get out on weekends..

As for carjacking I don't think Z3 are high risk, newer M models, RS Audis, Golf R etc are though.

You'll possibly sell it easier out of London anyway if you need to.

Yea, I grew up in NE London so quite familiar and done a lot of driving all around.
Ill be living somewhere N/NW and working Central.

To be honest there's a few other factors, relationship ending stuff and therefore selling house & therefore driveway/garage.

I could keep it at parents garage in Devon but I don't feel like it would be getting the use it deserves, although if I'm not comfortable with the price this may be an option. Just trying to 'streamline' life at the mo and having 2 cars is an extra complication. I have the old volvo for barging.

Real shame and I'm so happy with it now especially after the M50 swap. I suppose I'll have a photo shoot next good weather and put up an add on Ph/autotrader...

Funny you should say that. There's a fantastic narrow, low tunnel in the centre of Neath that I drove through in the 3GT today. I thought how cool that would be in a Z3. It would be rude of me not to try it sometime soon :)
