Ever since BMW started producing the Z line I've wanted one. In the past I've had MGs and Triumphs. Then, as many know, the two seat sports car market dried up. In the late 80s Mazada stared making the MX5 and it wasn't long before I had to have one. So I'm riding around in the MX5 and see this 'retro' looking two seat sports car with BMW badging! The Z3. With my fun funds tied up in the Mazda and two baby boys I had to wait on getting my own Z. Fast forward.

Two years ago I found a low mileage (30k) 2001 Dakar yellow roadster, checked my bank account and two days later drove it home. I've done many small projects to eliminate the usual glitches like clearing ODB codes, seat bushings, new shocks and struts etc. Now I can hopefully stay on top of maintenance to prolong the fun of driving. Thanks for being here and I am anxious to dive into the posts.

Zed on my friends!

Hi from Manitoba! Looks great but be careful driving over that huge speed bump in front of your front tire in the pic! JIM

Hi Tony. Pleased to 'meet' you. We are loving the improved weather and ogle our Z3 every time we peek into the garage. We live in central New York State nearest large city is Syracuse. In our area we get about 7 months f descent driving weather and go topless (top down) as often as possible. Yes we really like the Dakar yellow it looks so good on a sunny day. Thanks for having us.

A close member for you will be our @FRANKIE who lives in New Jersey, he's a great guy. Enjoy your 7 months John, the way our weather is shaping over here in the UK we might only get the same:(

Tony.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. It's great to communicate with you from across the Atlantic. My maternal grandparents emigrated from Wales and Mom was 100% Welsh. My paternal grandmother was 100% Irish. I feel very proud of my heritage.
