Hi all,

Long time reader and user of this forum and sure I had an account in the past but can't seem to find it.

Anyway I am rubbish with computers, but not so bad at car DIY.

I have a 99 Z3M in Cosmos Black which I have done the following on if anyone is interested since I have had it (About 18 months now)

Seat Rock Fix.
Customer Wind Stop made and fitted to AC Rollover hoops.
VANOS Rebuilt.
Viscous deleted.
Had all bushings in rear subframe replaced and fitted AC subframe whip reducer sleeves.
New Koni adjustable rear shocks
E46 Fast steering rack fitted

There is probably more that I have done, but i cant remember it all now.

Next on the to do list is
AC Pump replacement with SAP delete
Sill removal and rust protection/ possible respray
Have a look at the dreaded rear boot welds and possibly do some sort of fix/ preventative maintenance/ fit a dual eared diff somehow.

Anyway, attached is a pic of the car. Thank you all for such a great forum.
Welcome to the forum from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey..................Frankie

Hello All,

An update on progress for anyone who is interested, got my new A/C pump fitted and the old SAP pump removed, not very enjoyable on my back but it got done and with recent weather it is greatly appreciated.

@Nodzed Re the viscous you were inevitably 100% correct in the end, turns out once you get the A/C working on a hot day the viscous is required on an M to aid the cooling, I found that with the electric only setup the AC would cut in and out due to excess temps and the water temp started to move ever so slightly when I watched it on INPA. Decided best not to risk it and bought a new viscous clutch to be on the safe side and it is all back to stock now on that front.

Next thing to do is the clutch/ dual mass flywheel/ clutch hose..Bought the dual mass and new braided clutch hose, clutch is for next months pay packet, not sure whether to do selector sleeves etc while I'm in there, I guess it would make sense.. but more + more money going out =)) Plus I am not too sure of the whole process, is there a good DIY thread anyone knows of?

Also managed a wash polish and wax the other day as well as it has taken over daily driver duties while I am trying to sell my normal daily driver (2008 RR Supercharged Vogue SE with LPG) so here is a pic of the result for anyone interested:cool:

Glad you got it all sorted  I'm in the same boat, thrust bearing has got noisy so needs replacing so a new clutch (though OK prob at the end of its servicable life) and fly wheel will obviously go in and will also do the shifter pins while everything is out, be silly not to TBH.

Yeah i need to get a nailed down process for the shifter/selector side of things so I can make sure I get it right, because at the moment it is perfect so I don't want to cause a problem I don't have ;)

Another think I need/want to do is get a subwoofer into the factory location and run and amp hidden away in the CD changer location in the boot so it all looks stock but sounds a bit better, just trying to find the factory enclosure at the moment and struggling to get one. They did so many different types over the years, but this is the one I am trying to get hold of and can't seem to find for a reasonable price, I don't even need a working one as I will put my own speaker in it anyway, ah well the hunt continues..:(
