Anyone interested in a 100% effective headlight lens restoration polish ??
I have recently used this stuff, and as per the photograph below, you can see the great result.
Other than the polish, I used 1/2 a sheet of 2500 grit wet paper - I couldn't find 3000 grit otherwise I would have used that instead.
I used the paper with water to sand the surface of both units until the mess stopped being yellowish. The surface was super smooth albeit completely cloudy.
I then used this polish I found at a local auto parts shop for £4. Comes in a little cheap plastic container of 85g.
I didn't follow the instructions in only one aspect. They suggested 1500 grit paper which I considered insane and likely to mean lots of polishing.
Other than that, it was a breeze. I applied it, and TBH, I used my drill and a small lambswool buff pad which I slightly wetted
5 minutes of buffing on each and job done. The sanding probably took longer - more like 20 minutes because I sanded in 4 directions - L R and diagonally to cross hatch then top / bottom very lightly and very wet.
I was so impressed, I used some on my reading glasses and was pleasantly surprised at how easily it removed the fine scuffs on the lenses.. It's a white paste and water soluble - absolutely no pong - and I have more than half the container left. It's a locally made product, so not available in the UK.
