Hi guys weird question but do i keep the ragtop folded down when putting the hardtop on?



also any tips for mounting the hardtop

Yes. 'Ragtop' as you call it folds down behind the seats as usual.

Mounting the hardtop - do you have the mounting kit already fitted?

the fitting kit is with it i have to bolt those 2 brakets to the car and the ragtop when its folded down? i still have to pick it up but i was just gonna mount it straight to my z3 there and was wondering if there is anything else i need.

This forum is a mine of useful info. See the search button at the top? I'm not being funny now or trying to avoid helping you. It's just that other people have taken the time to explain things and they've done it much better than I ever could.

See this. It's downloads a PDF instruction sheet. On the first pages there's some german. But the english is from the 3rd page saying exactly what was on the previous page in german so don't think there's anything missing.

But apart from that the most important thing I found when fitting mine is to have the vertical line behind the side window perfectly in line with the front edge of the rear wing. See my profile picture.

Top tip - place a piece of thin rubber between car body and hardtop just in case the settings are too low on first offering of hardtop to car body - will prevent damage to paintwork. Hope this makes sense.
