Funny you should say that Mike, and to a degree it's sadly true. We passed a fledgling RAF Ingham Heritage centre at Ingham airfield this afternoon. This place was a grass airfield back in WW2 and housed several squadrons of Polish crewed bombers, about 15 miles north of Lincoln and only 3 or so from RAF Scampton along the cliff of the Trent Valley. There were more including Hemswell, and Kirton Lindsey to name but two.The Polish had a bunch of good pilots back in WW2 fighting for GB, something that gets forgotten now.

And to think our government were considering not allowing those very brave men to settle here.There are a fair few ex-Gurkhas living around here as they were stationed close by. There is an excellent Gurkha restaurant in the town centre.
