Going to be a long day

Can't be assed looking for it any more, posted it so many times.
There is/was a BMW crash test vid of a Z3 gone tits up, the windscreen surround is your role bar and with the back end (boot) on the ground, it keeps your head clear.
Looks like that's what happened with that Jap thing.

Quite a lot of the older MX5's do have some corrosion to the windscreen surrounds, this one may have had it too.

Well, he is just going to have to wear a helmet like me and I am a short ass, well, over here, compared to the Dutch.
Bloody hell I'd look like a throw back extra from "Dads Army"

I seem to recall an episode of Wheeler Dealer where they patched up an MX5 screen pillar with P38 and blew it in with an aerosol! Proper Job, maybe the photo should be sent to them!

Wheeler Dealers are proper bodgers. I've never seen them clean anything prior to repairing it and I'm not in the least surprised to read that they bodged a screen pillar with filler.

I watched this very W.D the other night. Edd cut out the rotten area, fabricated a new piece of steel which required some shaping and welded it in,just used filler to feather it in then sprayed it the correct colour........top job and top bloke .

If it was the bright blue car, that's the way I remember it too Steve. In fact Edd remarked about the safety aspect of the screen frame I Think.

I'm more than happy to be corrected on this, all I remembered was the holes, filler and a rattle can! Probably got distracted by either the kettle or a post on zroadster.org!
