Quite a lot of the older MX5's do have some corrosion to the windscreen surrounds, this one may have had it too.

I seem to recall an episode of Wheeler Dealer where they patched up an MX5 screen pillar with P38 and blew it in with an aerosol! Proper Job, maybe the photo should be sent to them!
I watched this very W.D the other night. Edd cut out the rotten area,fabricated a new piece of steel which required some shaping and welded it in,just used filler to feather it in then sprayed it the correct colour........top job and top blokeWheeler Dealers are proper bodgers. I've never seen them clean anything prior to repairing it and I'm not in the least surprised to read that they bodged a screen pillar with filler.
