Sat on the A34 Northbound 4 miles in to the journey to work, engine off and haven't moved for 10 minutes. With the amount if emergency vehicles that have passed me, ill be here a long time.

Happy Friday everyone.

I must of just missed it. Got to the office 5 mins ago.

Nae luck nothing worse I hate traffic jams.
So I won't rub it in too much that I've got a day off :D

It's all on work time. Could be worse if you had the day off and got stuck in traffic ;)

Air ambulance has just taken off, so hopefully not too much longer.... yeah, right!

Yeah would agree there but still I'd rather be a work than dribbling along some road at like 1mph hope you get on the move soon

Hope it clears soon Gaz nothing worse than getting stuck. Accident investigaation now though and fhey sometimes arn't the quickest:mad:

I just found out that the driver is OK and is being treated for minor injuries, this is a screen shot from the local news website. Really quite shocked when I drove past, almost sobering. Really glad the driver is OK!

A bit shocked that the windscreen has pancaked, but this is an early MX-5 and I'd hope the later ones are better than this.

I took this picture as well which I've zoomed in on. Doesn't look to have any roll over hoops either.

when I bought my Zed, the hoops had been removed. First thing I did was find an original set, primarily to fill the holes.

Seeing that, I'm glad i didn't compromise and get some cosmetic ones.

I do wonder how he did it though.

Indeed - takes quite a lot of energy to flip and spin a car, especially a low one like that (and ours) and on a dry road!

No other cars involved? One very lucky driver.

When I drove past there were no other vehicles just the Police car at the coned off section. There is a lot of grass stuck in the front bumper and drivers side wheels, so he must have gone up the embankment at some stage during whatever happened. Guessing it dug in to the soil and that caused it to flip. What caused him to go on to the grass in the first place will probably only be known to him!

I bet the usual not concentrating, too close, too fast and everything in front stops/slows down. Brake, swerve and suddenly everything is the wrong way around. You see people getting away with every day. Some are not so lucky.

Thats one of the reasons i sold my mk1 mx5, they are made of tin foil.

get those rolls bars fitted people!

Whatever it was, it seems to be catching. Just checked the same website to see if there was an update and found this. It's no more than a mile possibly two from the above crash, and an 90 minutes later. Must be something in the air in Newbury today...

Oh ffs, typical Newbury reporting. The article was published today so they've clearly only just finished Googling other news sites to find out whats been happening local. Lazy buggers.
