Garage here we come

Thank - you @FRANKIE :p
I'll find out on Monday ( as the garage is closed now ) :)

Usually in the UK a test of the anti freeze for carbon monoide is the usual test for blown head gasket. The mayo is perhaps on the cap and not in the dipsick. As the car has been going on short 10 minute journeys this would explain why there is a little water in the oil. I also had mayo on the cap after doing a few short journeys so I ended up taking the long way round. The residue soon vanished

Thank you @raymond :p
I no nothing about cars :)
When I was younger I wanted to be a mechanic :)
But for a female years ago it was unheard off :(
Just to think of all the people I could of helped :)

I Shelly I hope its what they say, but it does sound like the head gasket. will keep our fingers crossed.

Thank you Pete :p
I just hope it's what they say too :)

Hope its all better on Monday Shelly

Not as bad as it could've been, still not good though :( best of luck :)

Considering the short runs I'd think the mayo is simply condensate from the air. Is it just a thin film or is there lots of it on the cap and on tha cam?
The car needs to be up to temperature for 15-30 minutes after it is fully warmed up. Ten minutes just isn't enough to drive out any water in the oil. Give it a good run and check the cap after it had cooled down. Am hoping you'll find the mayo gone.

I'd take the expansion tank problem anytime.

Mayo on BMW 6cyl is a sign you are not driving it (hard) enough, any volunteers to give it weekly thrash, bit far for me ;)
I would like nothing more than to take your car for a hard drive @ Shelly!! Just a wee bit of land and water stopping me! JIM

Pity we can't get over that bit in the middle @oldcarman ( water and land ) :p
You'd be more than welcome to come round for a cuppa ;)

Well @Shelly, is your car cured? Have you got it back yet? Are you a happy girly now?
