And the Trent is back in it's hole.

They have a crane there to lift the main pump for inspection and divers to check reverse flow valves on the river outflow.

The land drain is slowly but surely dropping,

Yeah, cheers for that. You might be surprised to know that many of the "Johnny come lately" people who live around here don't even understand how rivers flow or which direction. Or that there are 2 totally different water systems at work here, River and land drainage. You have an idea when you've lived next to the Trent for 67 years.

Tony.

Thought you'd lived in that area all your life Tony

Does anybody want a Y2000 Escort van?
That must be one of the very last produced. I thought they stopped producing all Escorts in 1999.
It's still a no thanks from me, though! Had several Escort vans over the years and none were exactly the pinnacle of driving pleasure.

It doesn't look like anyone on the Ford Owners' Club forum wants it either.

They may change their minds when I show them the bootful of spares that will also go in the skip.

It looks like you can get a shiny one for around a grand, so I'm not surprised there's no interest.

Swimming pool now gone from your front garden, how long till the next though?

That's the $64,000,000 question mate.

Tony.
