Keeping things in order I believe the last Zedshed was on 18/05/2019 where I changed my cracked fog light and changed my rear pads and discs. The car feels a lot better under braking now, something I'd noticed was off for a while.

Massive shout out and thanks to @BMBabe for donating her bumper to me (I think she got tired of seeing my old cracked and scuffed bumper and decided a Zed can't go around looking like that ;))

I really like the look of the 'black headlights' has anyone smoked the lenses? I'd replace the weak lights with some LED ones to keep the brightness up.

Ran into a few small fitment issues and had to resort to the JDM fix of zipties in some places.
As I've upgraded the bumper I have some holes in the side for the indicators, instead of relocating them from behind the wheel I'm thinking of filling them with a mesh grill? Or use them as a mounting point for some areo :whistle: lots of options!

Mate, speaking as someone who's front bumper has been a little out of line for a year .................. I can't really comment.=))

Time to dig up my progress thread with some exciting updates!

After correctly painting my 'new' 2.2 calipers and carriers I've finally fitted them at the latest Zedshed Midlands with the guidance of @t-tony . Having changed the discs and pads a month or so ago I managed to fit the new brakes with relative ease...it scared me how easy I found it! But thats what happens when you have a great teacher :thumbsup: Also got the opportunity to get my little brother working on the car, he might still be a peteolhead yet!

Followed up by braided hoses from Black diamond on the fronts.

Overall the front of the car feels heavier, due to the bigger parts, I'll get use to it soon though. Definitely more stopping power and well worth the upgrade. The next test will been track to see how well the vented discs hold up!

Finally my loose and tatty knob got changed. Thanks to @Mint for having a tug and to @Sean d for identifying what was wring with my knob and how to attatch my knew one. Feels great in my hand, no longer loose fit! Added bonus seems to be the car changing gears a lot smoother? Either way, happy with my new knob.

Teaching becomes much easier when someone wants to learn mate. I'm sue any teachers on here will agree with me. I enjoy helping you because you want to learn and help yourself so I enjoy helping you. You so remind me of a young man who worked for me when I had my garage, he ended up moving on as I expected he would (and I would've been disappointed if he had not) and he ended up working for Snap-On Tools and working for them all over the world.

Lots of work done today! Massive thanks to @spurs fan in a coupe and @t-tony for giving tips throughouy the day :thumbsup:

Job 1: Test out the new toy ;)

I jacked up the back left and it went so high the front left started lifting as well! Think it'd be a good addition to my growing tools


Job 2: Rear springs

Step 1 - wheel off, support trailing arm

Step 2 - take out the lower part of the shock 18mm

Step 4 - The ARB link was already out so no need to take that off on one side but had to on the other. 13mm

Step 5 - Used a crowbar to pry out the spring, cleaned up the rubber pads and replaced! Got my dad to weigh down the trailing arm so it was easy to do!

This was the left spring, that's probably why it failed on the MOT :whistle:

Job 4 of the day: Spare wheel tray removal

It was a pain getting it to drop down to start with and then the plastic didn't want to slide out.

Finally got it out and looking at the wheel it's the original! All the way from the USA, never been used. The rim it was on was ruined with rust I'm so going to bin the whole thing.

This bolt was an absolute b*****d to get out. A lot of hammering, some wd-40 and mole grips finally got it off.

I cut the wire, no intention of using the cage. I've cut off one side to screw back in and seal the holes but then the angle grinder decided to snap it's handle :whistle: so I'll have to wait to do the second one

Next job done! The exhaust has been changed, much nicer and shinier!

Letting the paste dry for a bit as per instruction but I'll test it out soon!

Next jobs on the list are DIY wheel alignment (front right hits on full lock)
And rear brake pipes - these are the pipes that go up to the floor of the Z3 not to the caliper.
