Bloody hell, thats day light robbery, we pay half of that for propper fish, Haddock

Sold by Robin Hood's cousin, Robin Barsteward! :wideyed:

Lest weekend at Magpie Whitby (great fish and chips)
We paid £35 but was seated inside with a pint and glass of wine!
Love it:thumbsup:

It's terrible the price for a take-a-way fish and chips :p
They must be making a mint :(

I go to the docks in Grimsby and get a box of Haddock for £22, depending on the size we normally get about 14-18 fillets

Takeway cod and chips for three is around £15 in the New Forest. The Harbour Inn must be dead posh, are they wrapped in the Financial Times!:)

Roughly the same price 5 miles away in Saxilby.

Tony.

ps. If I had seen the price of Shelly's fish and chips I would've left.

The sad thing is that I would pay that price if I could get good fish and chips around here. @miller1098 treated me to some great fish and chips at 2 of his favorite places when I was over there and we were driving about Wales. Perhaps they tasted so good because I was having such a great time..................Frankie
The first time I had good fish and chips was when I worked on the cruise shp for Caesars and we stopped somewhere, I think we were on the Thames river, maybe Lands End ?, but I remember I had to take a ferry across the river to Tilbury. There I saw the statue of Pocahontas iin a church graveyard and then took a walk around town in the shopping district and found this great fish and chips place. I remember it was a large piece of haddock with fried potatoes on newspaper. It was soooooo good!!!! Over 20 years ago...............Frankie

Being from a fishing town we keep away from Cod as its notorios for having worms, My father was a skipper for 30 years on trawlers and would eat various fish but never cod, he wouldn't eat prawns either but I won't tell you why ;)

£6.60 for large cod (usually 12-14” long) and large chips at our local. I’ve known people travel over 20 miles because it’s so good.
Friday night there’s always a queue at least 25 long and often nearly twice as long.

Erm. Thanks for that Sean :depressed:

Keeps the riff raff out I suppose =))

Its all good protein, are worms an extra or perhaps included at the Harbour Inn

They're ok as long as the fish is cooked :)
That’s a relief. Not in the market for raw fish except for smoked salmon. If there’s any reason to not eat that I’d rather not know ;)
