Nothing like a salmon river full of fish though Frankie.

The only sound better than a V8 is the sound of jumping salmon.

Makes my heart sing and my gut tighten.

It's a wonderful thing to be in an idyllic spot with a fly line.

:)
Never tried fly fishing. A lot of guys at work like it. Most of the fishing here is salt water. A few of us used to go down the the Outer Banks off North Carolina to go fishing. The Gulf Stream is just offshore and there is big game fishing. We went for yellow fin tuna but also caught mahi mahi, wahoo and drum fish. Frankie

When I was a kid, we used to go poaching trout on the rivers that people pay a small fortune to fish.
We had our lines around a round piece of wood and used to sit up in the trees and do our fishing.
Happy days.........

Fishing with your mates is nectar from heaven.

Good "Buddy" sport.

Organise a trip Frankie!

:)
Once while going out to the Gulf Stream, the ocean was EXTREMELY ROUGH. I was in the cabin, lying on a bench. It was so rough, I bounced off the bench on to the floor. I usually don't get seasick and I wouldn't have this time except for 2 of my buddies trying out cigars. The smoke in the cabin got me sick and I spent the rest of the trip hugging the porcelain god. I skipped my turn in the fishing chair and the guy that took my place caught an almost record wahoo. Took him a half hour to bring it in. Frankie

I went fly fishing with a guide down at Big Pine Key, I had bought myself some gear, never fly fished before ever. I caught 2 mangrove snapper and although they were small fish, 2-3 lbs, it was a huge achievement for me. My dream would be to catch some permit on the fly, that would be awesome.

Tony.

Hey Jim, a permit is a big slab sided salt water fish, very fast and powerful. Probably known by many other names around the world like Mahi-Mahi, Dolphin Fish and Dorado all being the same fish.. I think they are a member of the Jack family.

Tony.

ps. Google?

We're shutting down for 2 weeks which will be great, our first Christmas with our little boy Stanley who was born in May. Can't wait. Aiming to get the z in the garage for a once over this week or next so I can have some fun with it over Chrimbo too. Turned about 100 miles all year!

Several of my neighbours run fly in fishing camps if anyone wants to try out freshwater lake fishing in mid northern Canada! Get a group together! I also back onto the Winnipeg River with some of the best recreational fishing in Manitoba for those that want to stay closer to civilization as they enjoy some of our Canadian beers!! Come on over!! JIM

Bring the car with you, please! Congrats on little Stanley and the soon to be. To answer your question, we're paying for my son, partner and my first grandson, he'll be one on Jan 4, to fly here from Chile in two weeks so not quite ready yet. Was really close until he wanted to bring the baby home for me to meet. How could I say know?? Will keep in touch but sounds like you're comfortable driving it again. Totally still interested though, JIM

Just to add to my post above, I have one room available with two more a short distance away at my son's home. Also several rooms available about 20 min away at relatives cabins on Lake Winnipeg so accommodations shouldn't be a problem. JIM
