If the Euro State is that good then why are they all coming to the UK. This is one of the key facts. Spain, Italy and Greece to name but a some are in Financial trouble.
They were in that much trouble the whole of the Euro Zone nearly crumbled and if it had we would not be having this discussion as we would already be out. That is how delicate the EU is now. If we vote out there will no doubt be others that follow if we prove that we can stand on our own. That is one of the reasons the EU do not want us to go as it could start the collapse of the EU as we know it.

Excellent point. A bit like the expats they all still want the benefits British nationality affords.

No one would ask you to and it's right to be proud of your heritage,no one has fought harder than us in Wales ,Scotland or Ireland and the eu will help you preserve it.thank goodness or we would all be speaking English
No the EU is homogeneous it just wants you to feel like it supports your heritage all the time taking your taxes that could have been better spent on you directly rather than passing through the EU gravy train diminished when it returns to you.

As I said. Great for a holiday, wouldn't want to live there; the first time I went to France on holiday was in 1976 and I have been many, many times since. Also to Spain. Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and a few others as I've passed through. I intend to see a few more, mainly the Nordic states. But I would never want to abandon all my country holds for me and what it has done for me; education, opportunity and culture. People miss a lot about this country by 'dreaming' of how much better it is elsewhere and not exploring what this great nation has to offer. Try sitting in a Cornish cove for a while, or drive through the Dales and try some Wensleydale. Sample something strange like Welsh Whiskey, yes it exists, or head up the west coast of Scotland and be amazed by the views and scenery. I am not saying don't enjoy the rest of the world but why not be amazed by the country you live in?
I see what your saying but for me this country is driving me into the ground. Work hours become longer and longer, wages don't rise even with inflation. Culture? What bloody culture? This country has no culture, it has long passed. I've visited a hell of a lot of the UK and seen enough. I'm half way through my life so why should I not go and enjoy it somewhere else??

And how is that a good thing?if the EU had more control over collecting Greek and Italian tax they wouldn't be in trouble.its a pity they can't collect our cooperation tax.The more separate we are the more tax avoidance there will be.

That's fine. Just don't force the EU on me so you can enjoy it.

That's not necessarily a function of the EU more a function of international tax law, which extends well beyond the EU borders.

Just a thought, could you explain this to me?
I pay my taxes over here.
I can't vote in the UK, as I live over here.
I can't vote over here as I am British.
What "benefits" can I expect from GB that my British nationality will afford?

Better the devil you know? I believe that if we were to leave our economy will be hit over the next 5 to 10 years and pensions would take a hit
I am not prepared to take that risk, we will still have to make payments to the EU we could not stop just like that?, plus immigration would still not be controlled enough for me, any illegal immigrant I think would be offered an amnesty so would they return home? don't think so,
looks like I've posted my position? as stated in first line, but am I happy not really. :(

What? Fully paid up member over here, why would I want to use the failing NHS?
Not saying that you should Mike, I'm saying that you could. I know someone who lives in the USA who has dental treatment on the NHS whilst over here. Sad state of affairs really. As for the failing NHS, it's only failing because we have a big a drain on it from people who haven't paid into it?

Tony.

ps. The person who comes over from the US did pay into the NHS for many years before emigrating, so as far as I'm concerned she has more right to that than any other who just pitch up here in England with their hand out.

Because I can't be assed to pay for a Dutch one and have duel nationality...
That's your problem then. You clearly don't value your democratic rights or you would be bothered. I'm more inclined to think you just like being as "contrary" as you can so you don't feel like you are conforming. That's your right but don't transfer that to any defence of a failed EU state or condemnation of Great Britain for what it doesn't do for you. As the saying goes either put up or shut up.
