Euro cruise disaster

If it goes tits up mate, instead of crowd funding, I will buy your hat, liked it.....:D

No way mate, I'm wearing that when I'm in my box =))

Bloody hell, it only cost you 8 quid, I will give you a tenner......

Mike, my missus told you that I'd been offered 2 BJ's off the barmaid in Mevagissey so you'll have to up the anti a bit, and I don't mean you'll get it by offering 3 BJ's either =))=))=))

Priceless.=))=))=))

Tony.

You related to Aunty Wainwright ?=))=))

Tony.

oh shucks ...... you're making me blush =))=))=))

Just catching up,hope you get things sorted:) .I think you would of loved the roads we did if you were in your baby.We had a lucky escape @hard top wasn't with us for the rest of the trip the Saturday night I went to bed and had to keep one foot on the floor lol. @PHILIP BAXTER turned out to be a bit of a handful when we started on the grapper in Switzerland as for the rest of our crew they turned into southern shandy drinkers ;)

We've got "Euro assistance" as part of an upgrade package we got through Barklays bank. Our RAC membership is fully comprehensive and comes as a perk of having a certain type of bank account. I think it costs us around £15 a month but it also includes travel insurance, mobile phone insurance and some other bits that I can't recall at the moment.
As for the age of the car, I had to pay 100 euros to RAC via card over the phone because of the age of the car, so the age of the car is just a minor inconvenience that's easily sorted.
That's the same policy as we have with Barclays Gary. We pay the same as well. Its a travel package. Have to check ours then, we may have euro cover as standard.

Mmmmmmm Grapper =)):beer:baa

Had a text today from RAC to inform me that my Zed will be delivered to my home around mid day tomorrow. Only problem I had was that I'm 250 miles away in Portsmouth.
However, a quick phone call to the office and my request for a hastily arranged day off was accepted, so I'll be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to go and welcome my car back home.

Whats the plan next Gary? Are you going to get a second opinion?

At least you will have it back to make a proper assessment of the damage

Glad she is nearly home Gary, I think we are all keen to see what the problem is. I hope they haven't dismantled it too much deciding it couldn't be repaired.

Hope it's better news for you after further inspection:thumbsup:
Sounds like you could do with some, fingers crossed:thumbsup:

I'm going to pull the engine covers off first to have a closer look. I doubt very much that BMW have stripped it already, my thoughts are that they just put a code reader on it. I'll do that first too to see what it throws up.
Anyway, if it is the CVV that's blown I'll just replace it, then do an engine oil flush, new oil and filter and see if she fires up.

If the engine is shot, I'll have to decide what happens next. My son is keen to do an engine transplant but I'm too old to be lying on concrete under a car. Worst case scenario is that I buy another car.

Whatever happens I'll be zedding again soon =))

Was there any odd noise before it blew the oil out mate?

Tony.

Good luck Gary. If your boy is so keen on a transplant, let him lay on his back and you supervise.
