Paul, really sorry but I'm getting a bit confused now and I know it doesn't take much before you say it;)

You have updated the first post to say return on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th June and and Euotunnel are saying return on Wednesday 29th June. Which of these dates is correct?

Thanks for all your effort Paul:thumbsup:, sorry to be a pain;).

I've been confused for a long time Dave, it's my age you know. However we would also like to know the answer to this question as we've only booked the hotel for the 25th and 26th I think. Are we going to a beach afterwards Paul???

Mike

I got us down to tunnel sat am returning through tunnel Monday pm? @pgunter could you please clarify? Sorry Paul, your certainly earning your stein of Dutch beer!

There was me thinking it was Tunnel Sat and return Tuesday

As far as I read things it was meet in Folkstone on Friday 25th pm for a night stopover, pop onto train on Saturday 26th drive to accommodation.
Meeting to go to rally on Sunday 27th. and another night at same hotel, Then Monday 28th may stop at Ypres before return or could drive
back to channel tunnel for crossing back on the 28th.

Oh dear I thought we were having 2nights in Holland then a night on the way back getting the tunnel on Tuesday
but I may be confused as well lol

Ok.. Euro Tunnel error.. It's out on the Saturday and return on the Tuesday. The error occurs as its for up to a five day return.. It's been hard dealing with call centre staff who just cause confusion when you ask one thing. The lady who I have been dealing with has been very helpful..

So it's out on the Saturday and return on the Tuesday. She gave several options if we wanted to stay longer. Hence the confusion. Ok.

What Paul has said is fine with us Pauline. So out Saturday return Tuesday. Just to set the record straight as we're travelling together.

Does that mean then, Dave, that those of us only booked in on Sat & Sun night, need to book another night (Monday) but WHERE, somewhere near Ypres?

Sandy

UPDATE on the thread.

Firstly sorry for the late responses.. Work is getting in the way of my fav hobby... Have not been out in the Zed for over a week.. must be bad.

Right I have come to the conclusion that IHG are a bunch of TW@@s to put it mildly. First they say they will, now they say they won't offer us a discount due to the numbers not being enough. Arghhhhhhh .... So I am looking at alternatives for the Friday night. At the moment I can get a better online price at Holiday Inn than the lady was offering on the phone. !!!! The Holiday Inn Ashford A20 is a little of the main route but is a very good price. I will try Best Western and Premier Inn as well as Travelodge.

Euro Tun are fine with amendments but just waiting for it to come out in writing. Then I can pass it all out for you to confirm. I will put all this information into a concise .pdf so you can all have it to hand.

The Monday night will indeed need to be a local hotel in Ypres. I was thinking after the service at 8pm we could all go for a meal in a restaurant as its the last night before the return to the UK. Thoughts ?

Regards

If this helps. for the 24th before the tunnel.

There is 3 rooms available at the Park Inn Hotel in Folkstone for £50 a double room at the moment and has free cancellation???

Or. The Portland Hotel for £70 includes continental breakfast. Also free cancellation.
Both on Booking.com.

All sounds good so far, I will drive down on the Saturday morning and meet you all at the tunnel. hotel is booked for Saturday and Sunday, has anyone any recommendations for Ypres. Booking .com have several available at resolvable prices.

Your Monday night plan is fine with me and @jue1 Paul. Sounds like a nice finish to the weekend.

@Grumpy that was the idea.. A nice weekend and a nice evening on the Monday before returning. Holiday Inn have a good rate in Ashford too. As for Ypres I am thinking of a local hotel in the town so a beer can be had. Just the one with a meal you understand

Thank you for all your patience with me sorting this out. Dealing with some companies is rather annoying to say the least.

Ye I'd rather stay in Belgium then tunnel it than sunny old Ashford! Soak up the last evening with good food and good company. I'll get on booking.com and have a butchers. If you street view Ypres there is a nice looking hotel in clear view on what looks like the town square.

Looks like a plan @Grumpy ... We just need a few rooms with breakfast. Then a nice run to the tunnel for am early afternoon crossing back. Should be fun having a meal in Ypres. I am sure it will be a good end to a great weekend too.

Are you changing the tunnel crossing times then Paul? On your first post the return crossing is: Calais-Folkestone 29/06/16 at 10:20/ 10:50

The date has changed to the return on the Tuesday late am or just after lunch .. Just waiting for the confirmation from euro tunnel. We could easily make the 10.20 / 10.50 if people wish. Just thoughts on a relaxed run. Remember the time difference on return to the UK.

Ypres to the tunnel is 94km on Google. So not a great distance.

Just looking on booking.com hotels in Ypres. Hotel Regina 81€ for the night including breakfast. Parking on the street so should be ok.. That's for the Monday night ok.

OK thanks Paul. We'll wait for your confirmed arrangements before making any decisions.

Are you reserving the rooms for us all at Ypres Paul? or do each who wants to stay the Monday evening have to ring the chosen
Hotel themselves once you say which one?
Brian.
