Hey Paul, Wouldn't it be a good idea for people that are going, to book their own crossing. Ferry space gets booked up very quickly this time of the year and so does the chunnell. ??????

@EnthuZiaZT If you can let me have a few more days.. I am trying to organise a group discount with the crossing merchants.. If after that .. then yes it might be..

Had a chat with Mark.. aka The Badman.. @M666BMG wants to be added as a provisional.. So more fun to be had.
 
Sorry Paul not meant to be a critical comment, I had guessed you would be trying to get some sort of group ferry deal. But we know from experience that the space available on channel crossings becomes tighter as time goes by and wondered if you had already realised this.

Are you booking the Rover 75 on a different ferry, Rotterdam for example????:ymdevil:

The Rover won't float Gaz, the Tin-worm in the floor will make it leak. Perhaps if Mark adds a Periscope???

@EnthuZiaZT What day are people thinking of returning ? I am still in two minds as to adding the bigger route or not. So for me at present I am still on the old plan of over on the Saturday am and meet with Koen and then a run to a hotel near to the star point for the Dutch run. Then a hotel Sunday night with a nice drive around some nice country roads. Possibly fit in the Mennen Gate 8pm Final Post and a hotel .. Return to the UK on the Tuesday mid morning.

Who fancies this run like this ? or are people wanting to add in more of the Swiss passes etc ?
 
Mike, I am thinking as people like myself will be on a budget ( I have a lot to fit in, in 2016 !! ) the shorter run and just some good laughs will be the plan for me. Obviously if I have not heard anything by say Monday next week, I like yourself will be asking people to grab a crossing. I will be aiming for the channel tunnel. Hotel the night before in Kent then a good start. what time would you be looking at running over ? as we could meet up with Koen somewhere away from the port and then get a nice drive to the starting point. I will be looking forward to this and will put a list of the hotels up that I will be booking. Only one I am puzzled about is the Monday night. Will have too see. :thumbsup:
 
Just let us know the details Paul, We're with you. Let us know what you've organised and what we need to do. Obviously as soon as we know which hotels to book and what crossing times etc. we can make our own bookings if necessary so that we can all be together. It will be an epic cruise.

Ok Folks.. Lets get this back to the original plan and back on track. Here is what I am looking / thinking of doing.

Friday night.. --- Hotel down by the channel tunnel.
Sat am ---- Get a morning crossing about 10am.
Meet up with Koen and have a drive with a stop for lunch to our hotel.
Hotel near to the start point of the Dutch run.
Sun - Day with the Dutch Zeds and having fun.
Sunday evening - Enjoying the company of the Dutch zeds as well as any others that are coming to join us such as Koen from Belgium etc.
Monday --- a nice drive through into France and to the Mennen Gate for the evening 8pm 'last post' Hotel not far.
Tuesday -- Drive back to the Channel Tunnel and late morning crossing back to the UK. All very relaxed and no rush at all.

So for myself,
Hotel such as Premier Inn near the tunnel Friday evening.
Hotel near to the start point
Hotel not far from the finish point and maybe a nice little town we can have a walk round and a laugh.
Hotel near the Mennen Gate

Return crossing on Channel Tunnel Saturday -- to -- Tuesday.

Budgets.
Hotels up to £75 per night 4 no. £300... total.. max budget.
Crossing up to £150...

Food and fuel.. £250 - £300... and thats for two people.. food that is.. not fuel.. hahaha..

I would therefore say a budget of the above is the max..

Chased Channel Tunnel to see about the booking. The person I need to speak with is not in till Friday.. typical..
