Tell me more oh sage of the euro runs. What sort of mileage would we be adding to the journey and cost would be needed to be kept as low as possible for a few including myself. But it could be a good idea if a few are up for it. We could add A being the Sat to Tue and maybe a B for the additional run.

If we can keep the cost down we'd be up for the extra bit.

Would mean a stop over at the Dutch end point and setting off Monday through the Black Forest and then staying over about 1 or 2hrs after the reaching the Black Forest then the Tuesday would be the Susten and Grimsel possibly staying at Oberwald then heading back over the Furka and the Grand Ballon and staying around maybe Reims Wednesday and onto Calais and Tunnel Thursday

So you would be looking at possibly an extra 3 nights of Hotels and an additional 1000 miles

@billz if you are thinking of doing that, I would, if you like this kind of thing, change the rout slightly and have a look at the WW2 museums at Malmedy and Bastogne.

@billz a consensus seems to be travelling over first thing on the Saturday so it will not effect too much leave for people.

We are looking at Saturday out and a nice drive to the village near to the start point for the Sunday Dutch run. Then a nice relaxing evening with our Dutch friends on the Sunday evening. A suggestion is also that we have a nice drive on the Monday and visit the Sunset memorial 'last post' at the First World War battle fields. Then a hotel and a nice drive back to the port or euro tunnel for a Tuesday afternoon return.

I for one like this idea as we can enjoy a leisurely drive rather than a mass speed through the country sort of cruise. I will be booking a hotel on the Friday night near the terminal / port.

What do people think ? Happy with this ?

@Andy McDonnell fancy this one ?
@pgunter on the definate hopefully list please mate.

For your information, the endpoint of my tour is not ready yet but will also be in the same area as the startingpoint, so its a nice point for you as @hard top mentioned to visit Malmedy / Bastogene on the Monday :) Or if you want to make some more miles you can visit the Nurburgring !

The costs of my run are not set yet but for your idea, this year it was 30€ per person for start with drinks / cake with a surprice and lunch, and 60€ per person with an evening dinner / buffet.

The thought of you mucking up the original... Never. It's an open discussion as a forum should be. All heading in the general direction I would hope of the same end goal. To have fun with ours Zeds and meet up with fellow like minded people. It's about time we spread our wings to meet some of our Euro forum members.

I will pull all the ideas together and get some prices sorted into a list. Then we can have a good debate and set the date hopefully by December 1st to firm up on numbers and book slots on transport etc.

If any of you guys / gals have ideas, now the time to step forward and make your pitch. The only thing set in stone so far is..

We go on the Dutch run with @DutchScorpion and his fellow Zeds.

We have fun... And make new friends.

I actually think a better option would be to do the Moselle Valley stay around Trier and then on the Tuesday head through the Grand Ballon to Mullouse stay over and at the same time visit the Schlumpf Museum. Heading back via a different route through the Grand Ballon and onto Reims ready for the trip home. JMO
