Last night, myself & Mrs Eddie were at the NEC to bear witness to the very last live performance by the originators of heavy metal, the mighty Black Sabbath.
They were on top form for their home crowd, performing songs from their early years, none of which were later than 1976.
For a man of 68 and for all the abuse he has dealt himself, surprisingly Ozzy's vocals were spot on, although he tended to dodder around the stage rather than run! He did play the classic buffoon during Iron Man when he knocked his mic off the stand, laughing he turned towards Tony Iommi, which produced a disgusted headshake from the guitarist.
The end of an era, the like of which I doubt we will ever witness again.
