Disappointed at not meeting Smiffy and his wife, I understand he was about somewhere.
@EnthuZiaZT while I was chatting to @BMBabe and @MartinN , you were photographing my wife! That's her, in the foreground guarding the "Pup" and looking like she's nodded off! =))

Here's my version of that photo taken probably 30 minutes earlier.

Getting to the pub wasn't going to happen due to hosting daughters 16th on saturday, but made good time on the road, arriving on the end of the queue at 9.45. Didn't park up until nearly 11.00. Duxford really need to sort their entrances out.

Anyway, all those I didn't meet, :( please accept my apologies. There will be more days.

We had a great day, it seems its not often we get time together without kids, parents or clients interrupting. Wandering amongst all those wonderful cars in the sunshine, just chatting with the missus and the day just vanished.

and finally, one for the fantasy garage

Yes, Kevin, I do remember a Lady reading a paperback quite peacefully while I was snapping away!

I agree about the queue, in all the times we have been going, we have never known such a shemozzle, couldn't understand why four of the ticket booths weren't being used, that was why there was a hold up right from the roundabout at Duxford Village through to the exhibitor's entrance. We have always left JB at 9.30 as that is when they open the gate. It needs to be open from 8am, then those that are keen can get in, easing the pressure later on! Apparently there is a new Lady in charge with a different strategy, which obviously didn't work!! Let's hope they sort themselves before next time!!!

Bloody hell..!!!
Yep, that was for a 30 minute flight. You could buy a half decent Zed for £3,000 and it would last a lot longer than 30 minutes. Wouldn't be quite the same memories though;)

Thanks everyone for making a wonderful day at Duxford complete and to absent EAC friends who were greatly missed today, weren't we really lucky with such amazingly sunny weather.
With around 50 to 60 Zeds attending from .org, the Z4 forum,.net and BMWCC members, a really good effort:thumbsup:

I must confess that looking at a few of the pictures from the John Barleycorn made me laugh. Let me explain. The first time I came to visit, I met and had dinner with the EAC at the John Barleycorn. Since I had never been there before, I had only an address and similar pictures of the place to go by. Take a look at these pictures:

There is such a large area to park with a nice large outdoor picnic area. These are the visions that were in my mind and what I was looking for as my sat nav began telling me I was near my location. When it said: "You have arrived!" I drove right past the place. As all of you know who've been there, the front of the place doesn't look anything like these pictures. I found myself driving down this little street and after a while, I knew I must have passed it. I just kept looking for this beautiful outdoor park while I was driving down this little street. Again the sat nav told my I had arrived and I thought: "You must be nuts.". After passing it for the third time, I started actually looking at the addresses and when I saw it, I was convinced I was at the wrong John Barleycorn. Fortunately, I went down the small driveway to come into the large open area with the car park. Had a really great dinner with the EAC. Good memories. Frankie

We also were lucky enough to see the Blenheim Flying, What a quiet aircraft, I was so enthralled I forgot to get a picture.
How nice it was to see Liam again, sadly missed from the forum since he sold his Zed. and other friends absent too, and to all of you that made the effort to attend we were so pleased to see you all. And those that do not belong to this forum, we hope we meet up with you again at some other event. As for the weather, there must have been a lot of positive thinking this morning, I'm sunburned this evening and wishing I'd worn a hat.:)
