guys please include me in your group! I fancy the trip but do not want to end up being billy no mates... :((

I do think it would be nice to have a Zroadster.org Forum stand even if we needed to be members of BMWCC. However no-one seems to be picking it up and I get the impression that some people do know what the situation is but are not putting information up for some reason. If they said that it needs an organiser to talk to the BMWCC I would pick it up but I do not want to cut across others who are representing either this, other Forums or registers.

As I said I do not want to be Billy no mates and you east coasters are also people I want to get to meet anyway! I plan to try and get to some of your runs as we'll as some with Nero in Scotland and the lake district and just try and meet each of the areas of Zroadster.org

Let me know your thoughts

Duncan, That is so sad, I can't bear to think of a Zed and it's owner, all on their ownsome :((

As we are not members of BMWCC, we can only try to gather others together that also aren't, Like you we don't feel that we can take over and organise it into a meet, but there is no reason why we can't all meet up inside at the museum car park. From memory, there is also a main car park on the other side of the road to the museum, which may be for the general public. Best idea would be to arrange to meet up at an exact time nearby before heading to the museum, at least we would all know where each other was parking. There is plenty of time yet to arrange things. Zedster4 has been in touch with BMW, so maybe all will fall into place later. :D

Hi La_vida_diver

I think all that needs to be done is to contact Duxford and ask for a plot, and how much. I Think BMWCC is just one group showing and you have to be a member to stick your car on their plot. If a .org plot can be arranged I for one would stick my car on it. One thing that would be needed is a rough indication of how many cars were expected, or Duxford may just hand out certain size plots and your pay the price, I don’t know.

As for being billy no mates, I wouldn’t worry about that. Just turn up mate and your be made more than welcome.

Zedster :)

Thanks Zedster so on the basis that you are/have talked to BMWCC are you planning to talk to Duxford? or are we looking for a co-ordinator? (not sure ho much time I will have due to two OU courses and trying to co-ordinate Zedfest Accommodation, and trying to finish a house and stables etc in Devon for sale. But as they say. :-s

Hi,

I don't mind giving them a call, I will do it tomorrow and come back with my findings. I may suspect that it's already full but there's no harm in trying!

Where did you book and how much did you pay. *-:)
That's great, three is good when it comes to cars....we may even attract more. :-bd

I booked on the Duxford site which for the Spring Car Day on the 6thMay are charging their standard admission prices
http://www.iwm.org.uk/events/spring-car-show
Adults are £17 and Seniors!! (like me) get in at a bargin £13.60 plus there is a booking fee (as always) of one or two pounds. :-?
It's an E-Ticket so they just email it to you and I guess one just turns up waving a sheet of A4 paper.

Perhaps nearer the time we can form a plan, it will be just whizzing up the M11 for us but if you can suggest somewhere that'll be great :D

Looking forward to it already....should be a good day out

Hi Guy's,

I contacted Duxford today and they sent me a Booking and Entry form. I don't mind gong ahead and trying to sort something out, but first of all I will need approval from the administrators of this site that I can use Zroadster.org as the club name.

If all is well, I will need numbers of attendees and year of vehicle being displayed. I'm not saying its a done deal as they may not see us as being a club, but I can't really see the problem and I would ague that with them, if it became an issue.

Also, for those of us that would display our cars there is a entrance fee of £9.50 per person, children under 16 can in for free, but this also gives you access to all the facilities at Duxford

Let me know what you think?

Admin, if you see this can you please comment?

Zedster,

You have our full approval and backing on anything to do with this, as long as you are happy to organise... I'm out and about right now, but will PM you later to discuss...

Many thanks, Gary

Hi La_vida_diver

Hopefully things will go to plan with the Duxford event people and I will be pushing hard to get a plot. I'm seeing some of the East Anglia crowd on Sunday so I will be talking to them about it, and see if we can get the numbers up!

I'll start a list, so just copy and paste your details. I only need model and year of manufacture at present.

You may find it easier to track if you keep the list on the very first post of this thread. It makes it a useful reference point with all the key details/arrangements in one place, and easy for members to locate!

Hi Gary, Have just this minute PMd Barry to suggest he does that, as it is hidden a bit, so far down the thread. :-bd

Hi Guy's,

I did it this way as people won't be able to edit my post so I thought a running list would be OK! I've now gone through the various reply's and added the names to my original list, which is now in the first post. Hopefully I'll be able to keep on top of it :D
Anyway, thanks for the feedback and suggestion! It's appreciated :-bd

Hi Barry,
Any news on the Duxford front yet? Do they say that we can have a space of our own for .org in the main car park in the museum?

It's good to see how many people are interested in going? :-bd

How have we got to pay etc and is there a time limit to book by :-\

Hi Guy's,

I sent the form back to Duxford last week, but need to give them a call on Monday 27th to see how things are going. As for parking, yes, we should get our own plot for .org somewhere between the two main museums running parallel to the runway. Last year it was a pay on the door but if that is different this time I'll let everybody know.

Barry
