Dorset bound

Well, I thought it was certainly worth it @Gail the locals tie their horses to a fence on the right of the pub.

OK, You will get caught at the bottom of the A34 and onto the M3.. You will then crawl through the New Forest on the A31. You might get lucky, but as its a bank holiday weekend you are more than likely to get caught up. The attached is a get around the bottle neck route ok.

It avoids the main issues of this area.. Just don't share it out too much.. Can't be having all you trouble makers on my decent back roads.
I drew the short straw and got the M1/M25/M3 route to collect one of the boys on the way. By the time I'd crawled down to the M3 the bit round Winchester was ok. It was slow then to Bournmouth though. The Stockbridge bit off the A34 reminds me too much of the route to our head office - I couldn't bring myself to go that way but it would have been the better choice.
I should have followed Gail!
215 miles at an average of 35mph. Painful :-(
Here now. Have been reunited with the chocolate cake Gail made yesterday :-)

I suppose you deserve cake after all that!!!;)

Little trick... At Basingstoke before the a303. Come off the motorway and turn right over the m3. Then turn left at the first set of traffic lights. Hey presto the old A33. A quick road all the way to Winchester and the bottom of the A34 M3 junction lol..

Kimmeridge Bay this morning....no Z because you can't fit 4 people and a dog in but this is the most frequent view I get of @Redline when on holiday. :snaphappy:

@Gail Kimmeridge is a beautiful place. Did you go for a walk up to the tower ?

Well a walk to the headland and the beach is rewarding enough. Even if that oil donkey is hidden up on the side..

@Redline Those are lovely photos and I love visiting that area. Stunning..

Enjoy, hope the weather is good for you.
