Domestic Electricity

The new boiler should make a massive difference. Our gas bill went down by 30% when we changed to a condensing combi-boiler.
If your old one was a condensing one then the reduction will be smaller.

We did not switch over to a Combi system as the hot water tank and associated pipe work had all been changed 2 years ago. It is a condensing boiler the old one was not.

That's not what im after mate. I'm trying to find a cheaper alternative from Scottish Power where in less than 2 years our cost has doubled to £174 per month!

Tony.

When you have 8 bedrooms, the heated pool and floodlit croquet lawn, it can get expensive.

Mixing 2 threads here but congratulations on your impending retirement, here’s to a long and heathy one. :beer
We were ripped off for years by British Gas and Npower because I was too idle to switch but I used the meerkat to find the best deal for us and switched to Spark Energy. The deals must have been too good as they recently went into receivership but have been taken over by Ovo. Our deal remains the same at the moment but I do expect a rise in the future. We pay £127 pm for gas and electric combined and are always in credit.

I'll have to knock the croquet in the head i think Pete.=))

Always shopped around trying to find the best deal - tenede to use uswitch mostly, and often tied into deals.
Now with Bulb energy, theres no tie in so you can move when you want to, and they came up regularly a the cheapest.

Plenty of folks on another forum I frequent use them, with no complaints so far.

Worth a look if nothing else. :)

My latest supplier since March is Brilliant Energy, no problems so far and for dual fuel, only £101 a month which is cheaper than what I was paying with last supplier EDF. That's for 4 bedroom detached house..
The biggest difference in gas usage (no help for you Tony) was when I had a new boiler filled after a new kitchen/dining project was completed. Its not a combi boiler as we have power showers which they won't support, it was one of the new condensing type as already mention in earlier post. The increase in heating efficiency was totally transformed for less gas used, also it was physically smaller.
The really big plus is we have a room full of Meerkats!!! :D
Pity they have stopped doing them at the moment.
