Doing things different in 2019?

...It's all about what's good for you and there isn't any magic one size fits all fitness program so this became mine. I was just out of shape and wanted to be less fat and more active, it just grew in to where I am now...
Totally agree Gary, I've been lucky so far with my weight, it stays within 3-4lbs of my 'normal' weight. Christmas doesn't do it much good but as soon as I start eating 'normally' again it drops off. I may regret posting this in a few years when age catches up;)

Still on the grind pounding out the 3.5k runs and alternating nights running a 5k because I can :D Managed a personal best pace of 4.57 / km on this evenings 3.5k.

I've just joined the companies Tough Mudder team for the 10 mile 25 obstacle event in May, so I now have something to channel all of this towards. For anyone not having seen the tough mudder before, think of army assault course / ninja warrior and total wipeout mixed together and you're heading the right direction...

Nice work @GazHyde

I joined the gym just before Christmas and have been 5 nights a week for the past 3 weeks. Started off struggling to jog on the treadmill for a couple of minutes and I'm now upto just over 5K on the treadmill and around 12K on the bike per night. I don't really know why I'm doing it I think I just want to get fitter, considering this time 3 years ago I was in hospital and spent that long in bed I could barely walk so I suppose it's not bad.

I've just given my notice in at work to go into something completely different after being in the same job for nearly 15 years. I'll be starting at the bottom but will work my way up and hopefully be a bit happier. I've realised it's time to change things this year, hopefully the other half and myself will be getting out first house together also.

Go Gaz! You do seem really focused on this and having a goal (tough mudder) will keep you going. I loved being fit and when we did the 10km last September for charity it was an amazing achievement. I have to start getting fit again and fast, hopefully in the next month or so I'll be able to start up again.

Good luck with the fitness and the house mate. Main reason I packed in was that I didn't enjoy going to work or working with some of the people there any more. I may get fed up of retirement but time for a change just now.

Tony.

Just chill for a few months Tony. Keep busy, but, it’s not a race to get anything done. Take your time. Never put off anything until tomorrow that can be done the day after

I'm 7 and a bit years into retirement Tony, still no sign of me being fed up;), always plenty of things going on

Sometimes thinking too much about something stops you from ever doing anything, embrace the change!

I enjoy the job at times, but my colleagues don't take pride in their work and I was always the one that said yes and never got rewarded just endless promises. Even a thank you at times would have been enough. Looking back it's one of the worst decisions I ever made going into a job which was a hobby, I've ended up giving up my hobby and something which I was good at and wasted a lot of talent in many areas along the way. I wish I had gone straight into something completely different when I was younger but that's all in the past now and things are hopefully about to change.

I'm pretty sure you won't get fed up of retirement mate, you have got loads of things to keep you busy and look forward too

My diet has been changed dramatically recently and the pounds are falling off. Need rid of this cold snap and the bike is coming out.
