When Istarted it it sounded rough for only a few seconds and then settled down.
All seems OK but I now have this warning light on.
I assume it will be OK to drive tomorrow?
Yes I have tried that and the light is still on.That's your engine management light. Could be a huge different number of reasons for it coming on. Have you turned the car off and back on again to see if it clears?
Do you have a code reader?Yes I have tried that and the light is still on.
Car is running OK though.
No, unfortunately not.Do you have a code reader?
If you are attending tomorrow I’ll bring mine with me.No, unfortunately not.
That would be great...thank you.If you are attending tomorrow I’ll bring mine with me.

Thank you for your comments.
No , I do not have Zorg stickers on the car at the moment. Something I need to rectify!!
I am feeling good this morning and looking forward to my day of zedding. I will let you know how I get on.
Now that is food for thought! Thanks for the heads up... time for me to invest in a code reader.Personally I’d want a code reader on it before driving it.
It could range from an intermittent and harmless air leak to big trouble.
It’s probably nothing serious. But at this point I usually tell the cautionary tale of someone who ignored his EML light which was trying to tell him the pins were corroding on the DME, although what the DME was seeing was a misfire. He ignored it, the pin stopped sending its signal and the engine seized. Because that pin was the firing signal for cylinder 4, the fuel went unburnt and the cylinder exploded.
End of engine. And nearly end of car if I hadn’t spotted it languishing in a scrapyard in otherwise useable condition. Took a bit of detective work that one. And just as well because the replacement engine I put in would have gone the same way if I hadn’t have worked it out and fixed it.
There again the last time I had a light 2 months ago it was a small hole in the MAF hose.
Anyway. The moral is all Z3 owners should keep a code reader with them, they are about £40 for a decent one and will very quickly and easily give some vital clues.
And you know you can always pop round to me as I have the full INPA kit although I’m not around until Tuesday evening.
It doesn’t mean there isn’t an underlying issue. I would tend to think it will be an air leak like a hole in the MAF hose which is opening and closing up.Now that is food for thought! Thanks for the heads up... time for me to invest in a code reader.
Thanks for offering to check her over, it is appreciated but ZTec used his reader on her at the event. Apart from recording the misfire the other day the reader gave her a clean bill of health.
If that is the case then the light should reappear shouldn’t it?It doesn’t mean there isn’t an underlying issue. I would tend to think it will be an air leak like a hole in the MAF hose which is opening and closing up.
