Correct. And I expect it will at some stage whether it's 2 days or 2 months down the line.

If it's an air leak in the MAF hose you may not get a more specific message. The misfire may be as good as it gets.

It's a very common issue, the rubber just rots and cracks. The crack can open and close.

It may not be that of course. But it's quite simple to check and replace if it is.

Thanks for the help. As it is not expensive, I may just change it anyway just to be sure.

Have had the light on when the battery was a bit flat but after about 10 mins of driving it went out, and hasnt come back on

Had this on my Vectra a few years ago checked at the main dealers by a friend and it was the wire from the engine temperature sender in the cylinder head slightly loose , squeezed up with pliers light sorted never came back , worth checking for any loose connections
