They are road legal but I’m not sure how they stand up to constant road use?

There's plenty of roundabouts here, most of which he uses the passenger side window to see the direction he's going

Just to update on brake bleeding.
I bled through a litre of fluid and cleared all the boiled fluid. Although there were no bubbles the pedal was still spongy..
A quick google and from e36 forums it appears quite common.
Methods that were successful involved activating the ABS (Using INPA or going for a drive). after the initial bleed then re-bleed.
I did this and a few bubbles came out on 3 corners (using pressure bleeder)
I then did the ‘pump the pedal’ for good measure and was surprised to get a single large bubble out the corner furthest from MC.
That did the trick and normal firm pedal service resumed.
Did another track evening but this time I was easier on the brakes and did two cool down laps increased of one before coming in (Brands is only 1.2miles).
Pedal did a get a bit longer after parking up but not drastically so and pedal feel returned after two gentle laps when rejoining track.
I’ll be be moving to Carbon Lorraine fluid which has a boiling point of 325 (vs 280 for ATE 200) and thankfully doesn’t cost much more (some fluids with 300+ boiling point are eye wateringly expensive).
RC6 front pads have done 160 miles at Brands and have 50% left so very good value. As learn to lean less on the brakes I expect I’ll improve the longevity.
They have also quietened down after the first track day which is nice.

Looked to be a wash out in the morning....
But thankfully the track day weather god’s looked after us and by evening there was glorious sunshine.
Z’s are like gremlins-they multiply when they get wet:
Was great to have some excellent Z company. The trio got a lot of attention and they sounded awesome flying past the pit wall in convoy.
There were some very big fast machines out (GTR,C63, M3/4 race cars, a Tesla and not so fast but we’ll driven 70’s Volvo along with the usual Clio’s, Fiestas etc)
Went out after the big boys went in and had some good time with similar paced cars (Fiesta ST being driven by Rally X driver and a Na VX220). Had a bit fun swapping places with them. The hot hatches really have the edge in Druids but everywhere else very close. I’ve got a lot to learn at Brands. Was nice near the end of evening when track was clearer and could really get a rhythm going and try different lines.
The only thing with evenings is that the sun in your eyes round Craner requires applying full throttle whilst being partially blind

well it was largely dry during the day but as the briefing began at 16:45 it started raining hard, and did not stop.
It also got windy and cold - I’m usually roof down, even with a bit of rain but this was too much!
top tip at a wet Brands - stay off then racing line, it’s slippery! Enough to defeat the ASC entirely…
Go round the outside and middle and there is grip.
It doesn’t feel right going round right on the outside of a bend or staying in the middle and not clipping the apex, but it worked.
oh and short shift, 4th was good for most of the track apart from up down the hairpin hill.
3rd over about 4k rpm would get it unsettled but 4th was much more predictable.

One benefit of a wet day was fuel consumption- did 65 track miles (5miles were from Shell to the track) and still had over half a tank- on a dry day can use nearly a tank.
tyre and brake wear low too.
this was my first track day with the new brakes and even though they didn’t get a massive workout, they felt great.
Big improvement in feel which helped keep things under control in the wet.

Bit of a tyre size dilemma. I run 4 x 7,5j 17inch rims all around for road and have for years been shod with 235/40/17 tyres. This size is no longer supported by decent brands - only 225/45 or 235/45 available in Michelin or Goodyear. Not even Hancook do it anymore (I’ve got Ventus v12...
