Was on the A34 in light traffic and noticed the VW in front of me had a flat rear tyre, not fully flat but getting there. A few more miles more and I think it would have disintegrated - particularly at the speed he was doing. When I first noticed we were doing 50, so I assumed he knew and was doing the run flat thing. That said once the traffic cleared he went up to over 80, so I changed my mind on that.

Didn't want to flash the guy as there was no where safe for him to pull over at that point, and flashing headlights would have just been interpreted as impatience. After about 3 miles keeping up with him I managed to get alongside at him and wave to get his attention.

There isn't a hand signal in the highway code for this, but somehow mouthing "flat tyre" and pointing downwards he figured something was up. He slowed down and dropped to the inside lane then came off at the next exit. Job done!

Probably Stopped looked at his tyre, said to himself "whats he on about they always look like that" and carried on with his journey. Gaz

Well done Gaz. I was also on a A34 yesterday heading to Poole and a vw polo was causing caos blocking lane 1 due to having a flat tyre! Anything to do with you @GazHyde!! :D

i spotted a flat vw golf in the central barrier on the M3 just before the A34 junction at 7am this morning. Anything to do with you @Grumpy lol.. actually.. it was a Euro PL lorry that was on the hard shoulder... Some people never learn.. HGVs hurt...

I've tried the same thing on the M5 last year and the woman refused to take any notice of me. So i gave up.

No not Me @pgunter! I made it back to Warwick services last night and ran back in this morning.

got stuck behind a 20mph crawler Que on my way home, when eventually it was my turn to pass the crawler, as i passed i looked across expecting to see an 108 year old granny but instead she was about 30 and having an argument on her phone. so i did my good deed too and gave her my own hand signals.
