Seems like Ive been here before.....only this time my fault :arghh:

Managed to face it today and got it stripped down....and found out what I need to fix it.

Bumper including aluminium strengthener, Bonnet, N/S fog light, N/S Headlight, N/S wheel arch liner, bumper bolt, possibly a slam plate as there is damage as not sure if I should hammer it back into shape.
Plus clips screws etc...

Lucky to have @spurs fan in a coupe relatively close........💋💋💋💋 .....=))

That is a real shame Malc after all the work you put into that car. Hope it doesnt work out too expensive.

Tony.

I may have a foglight you can have, not sure which side it is until I go up to the summer house and dig it out.

Thanks for the offer, but I think Andy has reserved one for me.

Feeling more positive today in getting the repairs sorted.

I will be picking up a Bumper, Slam plate, headlight, fog light, the large bolt and some fixings on Saturday from Andy.
I have also seen a wheel arch liner on ebay, so may get it, but for now I will use the one from the 2.8 .and I can replace it later.
The bonnet has been ‘ manipulated’ back into some sort of shape such that it will close and not foul anything, which gives me more time to find an alternative but will enable me to use the car. ( and obviously denying that the dent was my fault  )

Thanks to Andy for sorting all the parts out for me, and also Mike and Mark for their generous offers.

When is my bloody luck going to change!!!!

Bought a 6 point socket…..they sent a 12 point

Bought exhaust studs…. Quality crap !!!

Bought a passenger side liner , parcel arrived this morning……. They sent the drivers side one !!!!!!!

Just been out to get the blanket from the boot of the 1.9 as going up to Andy’s to pick up some parts…… removed the cover and saw this……

must have driven over it after the accident…
Hasn’t gone down….but I bet it will when I pull it out. :bashhead::bashhead::bashhead::bashhead::bashhead::bashhead:

F**************k it!!!!!!!!

and that is the new tyre after the blow out on the M11

Bloody hell Malc, you're not having much luck :wtf:

Look on the bright side, one less fastener to buy

Just got home in time for the Wales game but feeling much better after picking up parts from Andy (@spurs fan in a coupe )
Always helpful and lots of quality parts.
Just realised that the slam panel I collected is actually topaz blue, so may as well use it in the 2.8, and the 2.8 one that needs to be sprayed anyway, may as well be sprayed silver and use it on the 1.9.
That will save some work at least, other than a bit of Meccano
Picked up lots of fixings, bolts etc so can replace all the damaged stuff.
Hopefully will start on the rebuild tomorrow if it’s sunny.
:):):)

Just had a message....and to add to all the other problems ....it looks like I am now colour blind =))

The slam plate is Monreal Blue , not Topaz......oh well . Back to plan A =))=))

Topaz or Montreal ......all looks the same to me:drinks::thumbsup:

Your luck's changing already Mazza.

Had a few hours on it this morning, before rain stopped play.....

First thing was to strip down the slam plate to get it ready for painting.
So removed all the clips, fixings and bonnet locks before tackling the bigger job......:banghead:
Like all good breakers, Andy just cut through the chassis ends leaving me to drill out the spot welds. =))

Still dont understand why there is 6 on one side and 1 on the other ......but used an 8mm drill and off came the chassis ends.......with the ‘tap’ of a hammer

Then a wipe over with some degreaser and a wash with fairy liquid ( I do have look after my hands being a rock star )

Came up really well, ( unless Andy reads this ...then it didn't, as he might charge me more =)))
So now got to go over it with some wet and dry to get it ready for painting.

Question.......does anyone know the colour code for the engine bay paint on an Arctic Silver car ?

And thats where it will end up !!

The one on the car looks ok in the picture but in fact it is bent and slightly twisted down.

The other thing I looked at was the headlight. The only one Andy had was from a facelift model , so no side light hole....although it is there with a breakout tab.
This is the hole in my damaged one..

The side light just clips in.

This is the facelift one that I picked up yesterday
9E625FB6-E413-4F68-85C2-5290E84B3415.jpeg

Blanked off.....

Luckily I had a damaged one in my scrap pile from the 2.8 so i played about with it and it is possible to remove it
B168E815-E635-4CAB-970D-1E8A4DB49A73.jpeg

I hit a screwdriver through the centre and it broke out but I think I may have been lucky and it would be safer to drill it in stages and file out the cut outs. ( which is what I will do on the replacement one)

The other slight deviation is that the new bumper is from a facelift car so has the side lights in the bumper......Once its assembled, mine will have both as I have all the fittings and wiring ( courtesy of Andy) and so will wire them together.
...........Also the later bumper does look better:thumbsup:

Nothing done today….. except took the rear wheel off and had the puncture sorted. It hadn’t gone down but apparently the screw had just broken through. Anyway fixed and now back on the car.

The culprit!!!

Still I can reuse it when I build the front back up .
Had a stupid quote for respraying the slam plate, just wish I could find some rattle cans of the right colour and do it myself.
