@hard top Oh, the previous white-walls weren't inserts, but actually a special rubberised white paint that goes straight onto the tyre.

Sorry @David I'm reserving judgement till after I see the lips plastidiped compared to the painted whitewalls..although they look good I just don't get the vintage feel I think you're after but let's see the new pics please!! JIM
 
So, yesterday was THE sad day. After being stripped back over the past week from this:

It has been a great journey, and hopefully I will be sticking around on the forum a bit, but on Saturday I will be picking up my new, more sensible, 'I'm going to be an uncle for the 2nd time and therefore need more seats' BMW:
