Cruise Control Retrofit

I'm looking at fitting cruise control to my 2002 2.2 sport . Priced up the parts with the number in this thread £175 in 2018. I'm I right in thinking it's plug and play no computer trickery required ?

Plugs straight in, you'll have to cut a hole in the shroud around the steering column but it's already marked out, the switch sits in a slot that's already there waiting, and the wire that the box of electrickery plugs into it is there, just got to find it. Somewhere above where your right foot normally goes, taped up out of the way. At least, it was on mine. Unlike most cruise-controls I've come across, this one doesn't seem to have a warning light anywhere, I asked on here quite some time back and one of the replies was from someone whose car had it from new and there's just no light.
 
Just adding a further question to this post, I have read somewhere that manual cars require a 'jumper cable or something for the clutch. I have just brought the x3 items in the list at a cost of approx £175 from BMW, and plan to fit this weekend. Mine is a 3.0 year 2000 'X' reg with manual box. Any ideas if the 3 items listed are all that I require or is there a 4th item for manuals? Thanks in advance

I have a 1997 Z3 1.9 M44 and am considering buying cruise control parts from a 1998 Z3 2.8L donor car.

The BMW parts numbers for control module and actuator seem to be the same for both cars. Don't know about clutch switch or column switch/stalk.

Can anyone confirm whether I will have any problems using parts from a 2.8L car on my 4 cylinder??

Fitted cruise control to 3.0i Sport today. Clutch switch was already in place, so only 2 parts to fit. Couldn’t have been easier and took about an hour, including cutting and sanding the pre-marked aperture on the lower steering column cover. Hardest part was taking off the screw caps on the trim panel without damaging them.
