@Lee this is the run out we're doing next Sunday. If you can make it you could bring my wind blocker with you, or alternatively if you can't attend, I'm working at our Eastleigh office next week and could always arrange to meet you after work. I don't mind driving to Basingstoke, it's only 40mins away from the office.

@littlefeller, are you going to publish the route for Sunday. Or do you have an .itn file for TomTom you could send me? I'd like to have the route in my sat nav in case we get split up.

now heres the thing, yes I could sent you the route, but I set up the route on my tomtom at the weekend and it didn't work, I was hoping maybe you could show me how to do this, I set up destination and everywhere else as waypoint but I must be doing something wrong as it just tries to go straight to destination. shall I post the route or a list of place names we will be going through? I did think about this last sunday while some of us were doing a dry run. there were a couple of traffic lights and I did wonder about what would happen should they turn red when only half the group were through.

@Mint how would I go about a .itn file? I have tomtom desktop manager, can it be generated from here or from my tomtom? if we can sort this before sunday I could send you (everyone) the file. sending everyone the file would be a good idea.

@Mint ....sending everyone the file would be a good idea.

Not necessarily.....I don't have a tom tom and wouldn't have the faintest notion what to do with such a file. I would just put the addresses of the stop off point and the finishing point in my satnav, follow the leader and hope for the best. :p

Don't worry about losing people, the idea is to keep an eye on the car behind and if it disappears, stop and wait.

Jason, I use a program called TYRE [http://www.tyretotravel.com] to plan my routes on my PC. You can then export the file in lots of different formats. Probably the most popular are as an .itn [itinerary] file for TomTom or a .gpx file for Garmin devices. Once I have the file I copy it to my TomTom.

@Mint , hey thats great software, have down loaded it and made a file, how would i post it on here? i think i will need to email it to you unless there is a way of posting into the forum.

hooray, i have used the TYRE sofware and saved a route to my tomtom and tried it, it worked where as if i manually input them they dont.

as of yet - no there isnt. fish and chips sounds good to me, they do food at the station (meeting point), inc breakfast.

This is Littlefeller's cruise Jason has been good enough to take up the challenge.
what i can say there is a large restaurant at the meeting point and this is where we return to.
