Coronavirus

I know that it's difficult to get to the truth, or at least the real numbers, in situations like this but it seems to me that there is a goodly amount of media panic going on. It appears that people that die from this virus generally have underlying health issues, much like those that die from an influenza outbreak. The reported mortality rate is between 1% and 2% of those that contract the virus, dependent on which source you read. Not great if you are one of the 1 or 2 percent, but not the world threatening mega virus that the media would have us believe.

I reckon that as the world becomes ever more populated there will be more and more new viruses and diseases that come to the fore. South East Asia has its flu like illnesses to contend with, whilst Africa struggles with Ebola outbreaks. What's next? Let's hope that man's ability to conquer these diseases stays ahead of nature's ability to develop and mutate them.

Why do all these flu viruses come from Asia, and why are they jumping across from there animals and birds. What are they doing wrong and why aren't they being told to change there ways

I feel the opposite to the above quote, if mankind has any hope of survival we need a global pandemic on an epic scale, over population will wipe us out, however the planet will heal and it will all start again
