Car sorned

For me its roof down ..which I love or hardtop but really not happy if i miss a weekend driving it
 
I don't sorn mine and I only did 760 :rolleyes:
I need to get out more :(
Mot'd the sprite today the bloke had a double take
I had done 3 miles, yes its 11/2 to the Mot station
 
Done 5,000 in Zeddy this year. I am still considering SORN this winter but might forget to do it;):baa

Some of us met up there last year just after Christmas, Lunched at the Lodge in Old Hunstanton, and spent a couple of hours chatting, gathered round their blazing log fire before braving the winter elements with the top down!!!

I can understand the temptation to store over winter but you get the most pleasure from these excellent little cars when you're driving them, (apart from BMG perhaps :playful:).
We're off for a quick tour of Scotland soon, 1400 mile round trip. Look after them but use and enjoy as much as you can... :racecar:
 
I get more excitement out of driving it now and again.

Driving it everyday takes the fun out of it and it makes it a chore!

mines sorned because i am a miser, i have some jobs to do and it will take me a number of weekends, so dont see the point spending money on Tax!
 
I do understand though why some believe that a low mileage zed will bring a good residual value, because lets face it we would all choose that one over a high mileage one
if we were shopping, but as said its the next owner that's getting the benefit. Is it a fact that you only actually save on road tax, i'm not sure but don't you have to keep it
insured even if its in the garage?
 
Cant see the point of a low milage zed.all it shows that you've not used or enjoyed it. Senseless! I've put 30,000.on mine in 30 months of ownership.wished i'd put more on .
More miles more pleasure.
And its not my dailly drive.

I have several vehicle's
So my driving is enjoyed immensely in all forms of transport
this is dependant on weather or the mileage/distance needed to do
And what vehicle matches the occasion or appropriate circumstances of use
 
Yep all you save by sorn is the tax, you still have to insure. I agree with Maurice on mileage, I look for a well looked after vehicle when purchasing, miles does not come in to it, in fact a low mileage garaged example often has more problems than benefits, such as perished rubbers (belts, seals, injectors etc) and all to often will suffer from internal corrosion of the bores or wear due to infrequent dry starts. So best to avoid the garage queens. Mine has high miles but mechanically is brand new as nearly all the underneath has been renewed or upgraded, so is in fact a new car in 15 yr old dress, still sorned though due to being a tight git at present.
 
<500 miles in mine this year which included the weekend trip to the silverstone classic. All wrapped up now for another winter .........
