I think the time has come to say goodbye to Zed motoring and move on, been thinking of this for a while now, have been looking around for another car and have made my mind up on what I want, so after Christmas the hunt will start for a decent Audi RS4 Quatro 2D Soft Top. Need for speed is still important but the Zed don't make the grade any more:(

Been to see this one last weekend, but hate the colour:

Yes Gaz still miss the Z3 but don't think I could go back to one the years are beginning to take there toll and finding it more difficult to get in and out of the car, I like the Z4 but the power for a 3.0 is somewhat lacking.

Supercharger! :ymdevil: Seriously though I do get where you are coming from.

I think there is reasonable potential power gains to be had from the engine you have, but only worth it if you can't live without the car. I'm still itchy for an E30 with a stupid engine upgrade...

I have a trip planned to Spain August next year, and to be truthful the only reason I have not changed cars is because of this upcoming trip (need a Rag Top) Its not 100% to change just yet I may hang on to it until after the trip, As I need to find the right car for me, but if I do at the right price the Zed will go without a second thought. Please don't get me wrong I do like the Z4 but the power available and road holding has become lack lustre, my mate has just bought a RS4 Estate, the power is amazing but not over powered, the road holding is something else, I have never been in a car that holds the road like it, he has had me gripping the dash going around corners in the wet.

I can understand the need for a V8 and the RS4 is a special one.
I'd look at the V8 M3 too. Very different character but the chassis is a bit less flexible apparently and will still give you RWD thrills.
Both benefit from a proper exhaust - it's a crime not too!

The 4 wheel drive is something else, and it is that which has made me decide on the Audi,(and the fact that my mate P***** all over me:mad:

Here is his with my boat in the background. Sell the Boat and the Zed and raid the bank will give me a £20,000 budget so realistically will only get me a 07-08. But it has to be the right car.

I like to wish you well in your hunt for your new car.

Good luck Jim, you still gonna run your Welsh nutter race???

God was not expecting that Jim. Hope you still keep in touch and do the odd meet us meagre Z owners can come on. Good luck with the search

You ought to come on our Euro run next year as a farewell :whistle: Might change your mind =))

Understanding your situation Jim about getting in and out of the zed becoming more of a chore these days! Been thinking of asking
the martian if he fancies a very nice Alpina.:(

Me!, I don't plan to die just a car swap, not rushing into it, need to find the right car. but funds will now allow a step up, so you only live once, so why not.

I wont miss the Zed but will miss the community.
