Any difference I the type of differential? I know the non Ms come with a clutch type diff for pre facelift and torsen for the facelift is it the same for the Ms S50 vs S54?
I thought that the early 2.8 had a clutch too (and have been told so) but the one on my 1998 is definitely a torsen, no clutches - we opened it up for a look.

All M’s had the clutch type as @Lee will tell you - had that on his early s50.

They are quiet predictable with a decent set of tyres. They just need to be a lot more respected in the wet and cold if your not wearing winter tyres. I remember a member on . Net slagging off the ///M as he lost through aquaplaning on the motorway while it was peeing down at 80mph got what he deserved as they are light at the back with wide tyres could happen to any car.

OP, did you buy the car?

I’ve had my S50 Mcoupe for over 5 years now and other than some of the commo. Problems it just works, it works well.

It’s a great car that is so versatile, especially with a roof rack on top. Yes, odd looks ensure when you’re taking the Christmas tree to the tip

The car definitely benefits from some decent tyres, H&R roll bars. I’ve had Bilstein and H&R suspension fitted, which isn’t to everyone’s taste.

Best of luck with the purchase. Feel free to PM me if needs be.
