Just a thought when checking the drop link bolts the horizontal ones that secure the lower end of the drop link to the 'U' shaped bracket on the lower arm should be tightened when the weight of the car is on the suspension. If they are secured when the suspension is hanging the bracket is bolted tight against the centre steel bush and twists the rubber when the car is on the floor and can cause early failure of the rubber bush.
Absolutely correct Brian, and, I apply that thinking to all rotational rubber bushes. They should always be tightened in the free load position. Such as the rear trailing arm bushes.
