According to Straight six Magazine there are now nearly 400 Zeds signed up fpr the Zedfest :-o ;)
Read carefully ;) It says there are '...approaching 400 cars booked in'. This is made up of approx 250 zeds and approx 150 others on the BMWCCGB stand. Should be an impressive sight :-bd

-UPDATE-
:coolsteer) Contrary to our earlier information the Silverstone organisers have now confirmed that, subject to NO late problems in event timing, the parade lap will take place at lunchtime.

OK! Some good news and some NOT SO GOOD!

First the not so good! it has taken me ages i.e. 27th March I sent an email to the organisers and as I have not had a response I phoned them today to get some facts. I had been told we had to be on site by 9:00 and others have posted that that only applies to the cars that are being Judged! Those other posts are "incorrect"! According to Neil Carr-Jones who is the organiser of the event! They shut off access over the bridge because of pedestrian traffic round the area that we are being placed in the infield, so people will be turned away to the general parking areas on safety grounds. So if we want to be in the parade lap we have to be in place early. This is from Neil Carr Jones himself not through BMWCCGB or anyone else. Now having said that I have managed to negotiate with Neil that as we are coming from Horwood House as a group, in convoy that we can arrive as late as 9:30 but we need to be in place because at about 9:45 they will need to close off access.

I am happy for someone to take it up with the "co-ordinators" but as far as I am concerned I have it from the horses mouth, and will take some serious convincing that it is otherwise.

Second the better news for JR his two booking numbers do mean he has two full sets of tickets (two cars with infield passes and with four person tickets.) They are pleased to learn about the Duplicate warning and will look into it. I also have confirmed that both mine are booked without a problem but because I did not have my numbers Neil is having to come back to me on that score.

Third and this is great for a lot of you that have thought about it (and I wish I had as I have given away the two tickets I had to buy to get my two vehicle tickets). Neil has said to me that those who have the "pack" of two person tickets and a infield pass for the car and want another Infield Car pass to bring a second car CAN do it! He has asked me to co-ordinate so that he does not get too many emails so I will need your booking number and first car Reg number and the name you booked it under and then the type and reg number of the second car you wish to take. I will then co-ordinate this and he will get the required additional Vehicle Ticket registered and sent out. I guess I also need the addresses that they should be sent to as well.(I may need to do more work on this but will keep you posted via this thread). I think we should try and get a list together ASAP so that I can do a first pass test of the process please. Oh and I forgot to add that there is NO extra charge for bringing the extra car into the Event They want the cars! Because I forgot to check this till the edit I will also post this gem separately .

I can also confirm that the Headline Acts for the evening do's are not coming off stage until about 22:45 so I think the BBQ/Hog-roast idea is a dead duck guys but I will post on those threads separately.

My apologies to those members that I doubted about the timing but I just did not think I would be told one thing and another should come back to us via a different route. I do not in any way mean to offend! ^:)^

Well done Duncan for finding very important info. We will have to ask Adam ant to come to Harwood House as i will be drunk by 10-45. Could GAZHYDE organize the setting off on the Saturday morning to get there by 9-30am.
I was the one who posted that BMWCCGB informed me there was no time limit to get to the infield parking, and still have the e-mail. Makes you wonder doesnt it. :-? ~x( I am up for the hog roast on the Saturday evening :beer :beer

I know that we do not have to get them "away" before the end of the evening entertainment! However I will double check that as one of the Questions just in case we have to move them away from the Infield, I think it is a good question. I shall start a draft email with Questions for Neil Carr-Jones so that we can get definitive answers before we get there.

In my career I have always gone back to the guys doing the real organising as it is always so easy for information to get changed by the old chinese whispers effect. :) :ymhug:

I think unfortunately the Hog roast is Unlikely to come off but I will deal with that on the Saturday night and Friday Night threads, if I may.

I am definitely wanting to have a "bear" :beer or two :beer with everyone but the act I want to really see is the "Mike and The Mechanics" on friday night and as the headline act they will be the last ones on. So my friday is going to be limited somewhat.

With Regard to Gazhyde arranging the setting off in time for being there at 9:30 I am hoping that with enough discussion on this thread we can confirm the size of the "convoy" and I will makes sure that the hotel have us all set, and sat, for breakfast in time that we can then just progress nicely to convoy, so with luck it should not need Gaz to organise, unless I am missing something (which won't be the first time :ymdaydream: ) (actually that reminds me they did offer a grab and go for those that do not want proper Breakfast but to sleep as long as possible and just fall into cars and drive to the circuit. If people are interested I can start another thread for Breakfast Saturday morning.)

On the Sunday for those that are going back to the Track (like me) the infield is not important so those who do want to can and those that don't.....won't. I know I shall not make the infield on the Friday as I am travelling up that day. (at least I am at present, I might change that later if I find a reason)

Found this on the FAQ's page

WHAT ARE THE OPENING HOURS EACH DAY?
The gates open at 7.30am each morning. They will close at 11.30pm on Friday and Saturday, and at 7pm on Sunday.

WHAT ARRANGEMENTS ARE IN PLACE TO MINIMISE TRAFFIC DELAYS ON THE ROUTE INTO THE VENUE?
Arrangements have been put in place to split the normally 2-lane Dadford Road into 3 lanes in order to speed up the classic car club vehicle admission checking process and to minimise queues. Monitoring of the traffic flow on the A43 from Brackley and Northampton will be undertaken throughout the 3 days of the event and further relief measures taken as appropriate.

Yes the problem is that Parking with the riff raft would also mean our cars would not be in the parade lap, Which I know I want to be part of! :D

Duncan - just looking at the map - it looks like you'll be coming in from the south - from Buckingham village end ? Noting the comment in the FAQ's about making Dadford Lane 3 lanes I'm wondering if they will be expecting all traffic to come in from one end only? probably worth asking the question - the convoy may have to go up to Brackley. up the A43 and round that way?

The problem we have is that we have to be put in a specific place for the access to the Track, so we have the safety issues to be aware of, or rather the organisers do. =)) anyway the numbers by "repute" and I am not confident about this is that the Zeds outnumber the other BMW's by 2 to 1, that made me smile.

On your second point and later post i think I shall do a visit up to the Bobby I spoke to in Aylesbury when I did the visit to the Hotel. Oh sugar I have not posted the Pictures! sorry Guys and Gals. I will get my exam over on Saturday and TMA on Wednesday and get them up ASAP after that. Sorry! b-( 8-}
