Great figures considering both cars aren't new. They're both well within the HP drop expected on engines as old as they are. And both seem right on mixture wise, etc now you both have the baseline you need to compare the mods I think are coming. Also, you drew quite a gallery, nice one guys! JIM

Be interested to see what sort of a figure the likes of mine will still produce. I imagine by now there would be a significant drop.

@Grumpy Ebbee gave 173.5bhp last year. Stock she supposed to be 170... so don't knock them till you get them on the Dyno.

The problem is that you don't truly know what it had to start with, to know what it's lost. But if you can pull figures roughly around where BMW stated them in the brochures your not doing to bad. Think BMW said about 193 for the 2.8, so anywhere around 190 would be pretty respectable methinks.

I'm going to sort a Top Gear style power board thread at some stage, and hopefully more peeps will jump in and get theirs dyno'd. I still think the numbers were made up by the marketing department, so be interesting to be able to prove/disprove the claims.

I don't know if I'd dare put Reggie on the rolling road. He is 18 years old and I don't know if he'd take that sort of abuse lol!

Your right Gaz. The 2.8 books at 193. I'm. Sure we have a dyno at Ripley. Only 20 minutes away from here.

It's not as aggressive as you think, it's three relatively short blasts up to the red line. Takes him about 3 minutes to do the complete test we had done. Not trying to convince you, just saying it's no harder than I drive on the road sometimes

Not a chance I'd be terrified he'd tell me I'd got an empty stable and all my horses had escaped o_O

So Gaz now you've established that you Zed is down on power compared to Lee's, what plans have you got to correct the situation. Supercharging?

Not got the funds for that at the moment, and as mine is a daily driver it's not really practical. Will just be induction, exhaust and remap.

I go by the theory that HP on a dyno is one thing but the real test is on a drag strip, so I hope you line up with @Lee at Santapod next year!! JIM

Count me in as well:thumbsup:, I'd love to know how many horses I've still got. She's done over 163,000 miles now.
